Dunno buddy said none of the Beatles cds could be "downloaded"
No online music store has the rights to the Beatles catalog, so they are one of the few remaining large acts whose music is unavailable for legal download. Of course, you can still rip Beatles cd's to your hard drive then import them into your music player of choice. I have my Beatles collection on my iPod that way.

Anyone updated their software to the 3.0v? I thought you could now send MMS texts. Or is it only with the new hardware?

AT&T is at fault there. I believe that the 3G will do MMS as soon as AT&T gets their collective crap together.

That is what the AT&T people told me - the new phone can handle all of it, AT&T should be ready by end of July.

There is a new app called "Run Pee" on the Apps store which has a list of current movies in the theather. It will tell you which parts of the movies you can run to take a pee at and not miss a single piece of important information.

I received my first MMS text on the 3GS, and it sucks. It sends you a link with a message ID and a password to use. The link opens up on Safari, but you can't copy and paste the ID/password without copying the whole message that it's contained in. It also expires after 7 days.

It wasn't very practical, and the website wasn't exactly running well, either. I still can't figure out how to send an MMS.

AT&T has it disabled. They are supposed to enable it sometime after that last OS update was released which obviously hasn't happened yet.

things I do w/ my iphone

My job now is automated systems, system integration blah blah blah.

I have a 4500sq foot residence I'm working on right now that I'm automating the systems for. The central control unit is.... the IPHONE/ITOUCH! When you go look at what advanced programmable remotes cost the iTouch becomes a bargain.

So, my job is integrating all their systems into a central interface.

My iMote:

House is broken down into five zones. Remote screens act differently based upon what zone your in. (for example the DTV remote screens will control the DTV receiver in the room (zone) you are in, TV, HVAC, Lighting ect.

Remote screens give feedback like power state, sleep state, volume, input, frequency, sleep timer, channel number, lights that are on/off, garage doors open/closed, HVAC zone temperatures ect. All lighting in the house can be controlled by the interface (Lutron Homeworks control system)

work in progress:

The "Home Screen". Links are for DirecTV, XBMC Media Server, Stereo Receiver. I'm working on communicating w/ the lutron homeworks system via telnet over ethernet right now.

The DirecTV HR20 interface

displays current channel, volume level (volume at 0 in this picture reference the onkyo screen), jump directly to favorites channel by clicking channel logo (not pictured).

Based on the zone your in (this is setup for my house) when select the DirecTV icon on the home screen the TV powers on, tunes to the correct input, the right receiver turns on and tunes to the correct input and I can set a preferred lighting scheme and level based on the time of day to trigger as well. The volume controls operate the right receiver based on what zone your in.

Control is usb->rs232 cable using typical serial port communications. No IR = no line of sight issues = operate the device anywhere within range of your wireless router or via the innerwebs/virtual private network

The Onkyo 875 Interface:

Input, volume, frequency, sleep timer, mute, resolution feedback and some empty space to add more controls.

Control via usb->rs232 serial comms.
