  • Probably, but safety is not his spot. Move him to CB now and find out what we have.

  • No. He's the most overrated player on this team. A completely clueless underachiever in the Michae

I say no. At least not at safety. I'd go so far as to say that he outright sucks at safety.
Moving him to corner would seem to make sense only if we were playing man to man, because any kind of zone / cover 2 scheme is going to expose his lack of understanding of what in the hell he's supposed to be doing and where he's supposed to be.

no - but in response to your question - do you think we have seven core guys on defense?

He talks the talk, but that's about it. We need action, not a bunch of verbage.

I think he's a fine player, but I don't know what we're doing with him. Did he blitz once on Sunday? He's not a free safety; he's not going to be able to do much playing center field all day long.

So, in response to your question: he's a poor-man's Brian Dawkins if we know how to use him, but we don't, so no.

Long term contract? What a joke, for what? Looking good on the field, and then getting consistently burned? Give me a break.

No.
I think Ray Thompson's a solid player. I think Pace and Bell will be solid players.
The rest of them are either backups (Hill, McKinnon, Wakefield, Barrett) are overrated (Wilson, Jackson, Bryant, Fisher) or outright suck (Tanner, Davis, hell throw Marmie into this group).

Fisher is a very good player! Far from overrated!

Barrett is a solid CB!

I have never seen Fisher make one play and Barrett while an okay 2nd CB is nothing to pund your chest about.

Think Ray is going to resign with the Cards? I don't. Not with the losing. I think he will take league minimum somewhere else just for a shot at a .500 team.

Well two other NFL team must think Barrett is pretty good because they make a point to stay away from his side. Dont get me wrong Hill deserved to be picked on. But if Barrett is just "ok" then he would have been burned more than 0 times in two full games. Regardless of a teams game plan!

He has locked down his side and done rather well he is a legitimate starting CB in this league!

Fisher is all over the field. Watch the games! As a collective whole how many plays have you seen this team make?

If I were going to pick four guys on the D to start over with I would keep Thompson,Fisher,Pace, and Barrett! Maybe Bryant but the rest can all be recycled as far as Im concerned!

I think you have to be thrown to more than 5 times to be considered a shut down guy. He hasnt even played a top WR yet. Wait til he plays TO.

Not arguing that point but it shows that other teams and coaches do respect him.

Also how many completed out of the five. Even in limited opportunities he has done well!

they dont respect him. Hill is the worst of the two so thats why he gets thrown to. It obviously has shown that they dont need to throw it to another side. why throw to the other side when you make completions all the time on one side.

Even I, a Barrett basher if ever one existsed, will admit Barrett has made me rethink his talent. He is playing better than I thought he would thus far. Nothing great but fairly solid thus far.

Not true many of you have been Barret bashers openly stating he doesnt have the talent to be starting in this league. That he should be a nickle back at best. I have argued that till blue in the face!

If what you say above were true OCs would be picking on both sides of the field on a regular basis. They dont because they know Barrett isnt a player that can be picked on otherwise they would open up the offense and pick on both sides making the defense worry even more, not knowing which side they will go to next!

What would be smarter openly taking adavntage of two weaknesses or just one? So your theory doesnt fly IMO!

Even Tim Green the announcer in week one commented on just how good Barrett is and that he is a legitimate starting CB in this league!

Wilson is the STRONG Safety...

I know, but we're playing D like we have two free safeties out there playing center field. No one is good enough to cover for Reynoldo Hill's lack of ability to do anything but collect a paycheck and look lost. It's making Wilson look worse than he is, but Section 11's right that a lot of it is his fault.

I think that if Adrian played on a team that could utilize his abilities and not make him cover for shoddy corner play, he'd perform at a high level. He played all right last season when Duane Starks was in the lineup.
