Did Bill have legitimate power and potential in his leg coming out of college? ...or did was he picked because of his brother's success? After rewatching the game, his poor kickoffs are really going to hurt us in close games

BTW - Rocky 4 was on TBS the other night - Frank's singing was all over that movie.

To quote big, bad Frank: "There ain't no easy way out"

I distinctly remember grammatica putting many KOs in the endzone in his rookie year. I also remember them saying he kicked a 64 yard field goal in college. So I would say the leg strength was there. I have no clue what happened to it though cus he sucks azz now!

I wish there was a way we could keep Duncan too.... I think given the chance the kid would be a good kicker in the NFL....The Best thing would be to keep Bill because he is clutch and find a Punter with a strong leg that can also kick off deep......

Sorry, I think that acl injury still affects him on kickoffs.

There is no guarantee of full recovery from that type of injury.

Is everything
If Billy continues to only get the ball to the 10 yard line then maybe it's time for strategic squib kicks. Keep the speedsters from getting a running start plus something good might happen when the ball takes funny bounces.

Now I've never been a kicker, but the acl injury was on his non kicking leg....wasn't it????????

Can an acl injury on the plant leg really affect things that much?

Frank Stallone:D ....
That's hilarious...

One of my friends used to use his name for discussions like this. I didn't know it had become the shining example of a brother who gets a little fame because of his big time brother. :D

In athletic rehabilitation they have done studies and determined that the plant leg (non kicking) actually exerts more force than the kicking leg. Therefore any strength or stabilization defecit in the non kicking leg would drastically affect kicking force / distance. Athletes return from ACL reconstruciton in 9-12 months (usually when their reconstructed leg is at least 90% as strong as the other leg) but studies show it takes 18-24 months for strength / performance to return to pre-injury levels.

Billy doesn't strike me as the hardest worker so who knows how hard he rehabed, that is JMO.
