Is Blake an Upgrade over Plummer

I selected no as well. Sorry guys but I don't think Blake is an improvement. I think he has some strengths which are better then plummer (better deep ball, slightly better accuracy) but think he is also a downgrade at some things then plummer (4th quarter comebacks, scrambling ability). Honestly my opinion is that Blake is neither an upgrade nor a downgrade, more of a push then anything. But lets be honest here, there were no real "upgrade" QB's available in free agency right now. Now if we had waited and gotten Griese, that I might have concidered an upgrade as far as talent is concerned.

Their average per rush is identical.

Good post.. I think the majority of hope the best for Jake but are glad we have a change. We needed it. Jake needed it.

But, being objective, Blake has better numbers so he must be considered an upgrade.

I can not tell how happy I was to hear the talk on the radio about blake. The one thing that kept comming up is his smart play, TD/Int Ratio and his arm. That is all I am looking for. No turnovers...Smart play...move the ball...(respect the long ball so we keep the d honest)

Good luck to Jake. It is a new chapter in Cardinal history. Time to move on.

But if Blake is able to protect the ball and generate offense early in games...then the importance of 4th quarter comebacks is greatly diminished and that strength becomes a moot point for the majority of the season.

I voted that Blake would be an upgrade, a huge upgrade...even though I don't consider Blake more than just an average QB.

We will prbably play from behind a lot due to the fact that our defense is going to give up a lot of points and that our offense is still not good enough to have a scoring drive every possession.

It would be great to see how Blake would do, if he had the same weapons Jake had around him with Boston etc. Blake wont make some of the amazing plays Jake makes, but he wont make the continous bonehead plays either. I think Blake was the best option in Free Agency for the Cards

If he is a push we are only about $5 million better off this season. Now who could that buy?????

Hey guys, if you think Blake is the savior maybe we should have gone after Boomer or O'Donnell or maybe after the mini-camps we can still land Greise.

I allways love these types of comments as far as "protecting the ball" and "generating offense early"

Jake was about average in the league in # of turnovers early in games, not good, but not bad either. As for "generating offense" this is everyones job not just the Qb, if the running game is solid early, if the O-line is giving good protection early, if the WR's aren't having the "droppsies" early then the offense can produce early in games.

I would imagine that Blake will "protect the ball" about the same as Jake. Now the main question is wether or not his ability to throw the deep ball will equate to more offense early in games or not, that is I think where the question will be.

Do oyu hate the broncos because jake is a bronco? And if you dont want to argue it anymore(which you have said a million times) than why did you post this? You open up a can of worms everytime you talk about jake and say how much he sucks and come up with some not so clever things, such as jake dummer. At least some jake bashers wish him well in denver while you wish he dies or something. Why such the hatred, he is not a cardinal anymore but you still talk like this. Do you think he held back the cards? Believe me they were not going anywhere no matter who the qb was. There were always other problems. Krang make up your mind do you hate him and the broncos or do you wish him luck you say both makes no sense! I would be willing to bet that Jake has a better year next year than Blake. Jake will have a top running game, good receivers, good offensive minded coaching and a good defense. Blake wont have much unless the cards make lots more moves. I am sure Jake is much happier in the position he is in now with a almost gauranteed chance of playoffs when has he ever had that? Anyways we shall see who is the better QB lets see what Blake can do with very little like Jake had over the Years and see how Jake does with a good surrounding cast. At the very least should be a very interesting season and plenty to talk about on here!!

I really do not care what happens to Jake next year unless it effects our standings. I really do not wish bad luck on anyone and never want anyone to get hurt.
