Could Brenley's job be in jeopardy if the Diamondbacks don't get things going in the next 2-3 weeks?
But that is, as AZZenny notes, precisely the problem. Nobody should have expected Randy Johnson to be the Randy Johnson of old. Not at his age and not coming off the surgery.green machine said:The big problem is with Randy Johnson right now. We were really counting on him to get back to old form. Now, that faith may have been unjustified, however, if he was "Old Randy" then we'd be 4-4 instead of 2-6, and we'd feel a bit better.

Other than that... I guess I'm going to enjoy watching Anaheim again this year. Fun team to watch. Arte Moreno - the Owner That Got Away.

Brenly didn't assemble this ageing wreck, Garadufus and Colangelo did.

Not to mention the return on investment for the Schilling trade and giving up a bit too much for SexsonAZCB34 said:The Reynolds move is turning into a collassal blunder.

The D-Backs also "expected" Shayne Reynolds to be the Reynolds of three years ago and Robby Alomar to be teh Alomar of three years ago. Ditto with all the other bad signings based on one good year.
AZCB34 said:Very true. Not sure what they could have really done about Schilling but clearly they gave up too much for Sexson. The Dbacks handed the Brewers 4 starting position players (I think Moeller is starting??) and a starting pitcher.
Exactly, we gave up people who would start for a sub par team like the brewers and got a superstar starter to play for the Dbax. I dont think they gave up to much at all. We improved in all the places we lost guys.green machine said:We sure didn't give up too much for Sexson. Overbay, Counsell, and Moeller are marginal starters at best. Spivey is too inconsistent.
