Is Chandler Jones the most valuable defensive player in the league.

cant believe how well he has adjusted to the new scheme along with lousy coaching and a horrible group of linebacker as teammates . Hard to think of a defensive player in the league that I would rather have right now

If we’re not counting contracts, Aaron Donald.

If we’re counting contracts, still Aaron Donald.

Khalil Mack, too.

I still love CJ though.

It's why I'm still very much on the draft a DL high this year bandwagon. Chandler has been so good, Nkemdiche seems to be very much on the rise, get another good young guy and we could really have something with those 3, PP, and Buddha. Need LB's but I don't see a ton of guys worth a high pick.

I think Baker is still shaky in coverage. If CJ isn’t the best he’s very close. Depends on your definition of MVP. Take CJ off the Cards and they lose today’s game. Take away Mack or Donald and their teams still have winning defenses.

This draft is as deep at D-line as any I have seen since 2003

Can’t agree. If the defense has to hold up for 90 plays again, they won’t beat many starting QBs. Give Rosen a line and he can rest the defense. You’ll ruin Rosen if he has to keep playing behind a line this bad. The FA group will have outstanding DLs & LBs. The Cards have the money to get proven players. There’s little chance there will be good OLs in FA. If you want to develop Rosen he deserves a line.

Bosa, Miller and Watt deserve shoutouts too.

CBS has 3 OL's in the top 35 ratings for the next draft. Guys move up and down of course but I really don't see an OL right now that's a top 10 pick. now if we assume Greg Little goes pro that might change, in fact SI has him going 3rd to us right now in their mock draft. He seems to be the most likely OL to go top 10. From what I've seen he's projected high more on sheer size and athletic ability than actual play, he's good not great. now in the SEC he's playing against NFL prospects every game just about, but I don't think he's nearly as good an OT, as say Oliver is a DL.

I just think unless someone offers us a great package to move down and get an OL, it'd be very hard to justify taking an OL right now.

Maybe that changes, maybe Little finishes the year so well he's moved up, so far I think there's at least 3 and maybe 4 DL's who are clearly better players than Little.

What a monster game from Jones. Pretty much willed the team to victory today. Carried them on his back as much as one guy on defense can.

He did get some help from Bynes (wow, never thought I would type that) and from Budda Baker (aka Honey Badger II)

Budda Baker don't care folks! He don't!

The line was fine today, there wasnt much push on the run game sure, but id put some of the blame on Mccoy for making the run game so predictable

Also, please stop the narrative of Budda being average. (This isn’t directed at you OP.)

He’s not Troy Polamalu, but he’s very damn good. He was worth the trade up.

Humphries, Cole and Pugh aren't going anywhere. You gonna spend a top 5 pick on a RT? LG? I agree with your overall point, but where we will draft in round 1 will not be a great match.
