Is Chandler Jones the most valuable defensive player in the league.

I like Baker, and I am ok that we traded up for him. I watch him, and I see average play. Some good, some bad. I think he has a lot on his plate which makes it tough for him.

The line was fine today, there wasnt much push on the run game sure, but id put some of the blame on Mccoy for making the run game so predictable

We need to move on from Iupati, he's just never going to be the same again he can't stay healthy. Was once a dominant run blocker but he can't stay on the field.

Agreed, but Let’s wait until after the season. Not ready for the Munyer era. I did notice that Monyer plated on defense today. Wierd

Undermanned at DL so he fills in for goal line stand, good coaching imo.

It's why I'm still very much on the draft a DL high this year bandwagon. Chandler has been so good, Nkemdiche seems to be very much on the rise, get another good young guy and we could really have something with those 3, PP, and Buddha. Need LB's but I don't see a ton of guys worth a high pick.

I like this idea...Double down on a strength and become the best D line in football.

No really but he sure showed up today. I though until today he had been not playing to his potential.

Chandler Jones was in a different league today. He was the best player on the field by a long way.

Prior to today he had been par. I'm used to him being elite. Today it came out.

I have high expectations for him.

He had some stats but I didn't feel he was being a game changer. Again... He was doing fine, just not as expected. Statistically here is with Kalil Mack. With that, I expect him to game change like Kalil Mack

CJ is the best acquisition in Cardinals history.

That's a different discussion. I'm simply stating it's about time he dominated this year.

I don't get the Budda hate from some. The slot is targeted relentlessly these days. Other than maybe Chris Harris, who is on the older side already, there aren't any shutdown nickel defenders anymore. Not possible with today's rules. Since Peterson is elite and avoided by smart QBs, Baker gets targeted even more. He has room to improve, but held his own while still making some plays. Add the fact that he isn't afraid to tackle in the run game, and he is already a complete nickel CB/S at his young age.

Budda is an outstanding athlete and he’ll make some plays based on that. I’m not saying he can’t play in this league I’m saying there are significant issues that need correcting. His reaction time is a concern. He is often a step slow to begin coverage. The penalty on the slant was an example. Look at his coverage in previous games. Guys have just run past him. In college he had a speed edge and could close ground. You can’t get away with that in the NFL. Being small he’s also got to get position on receivers. HB was much stronger and could abuse receivers to break up completions, Budda lacks that power. He’s a work in progress that has to be focused on honing his craft and improving week to week.

Agree. It’s not hate, we all see the splash plays and the potential. But we have yet to see consistency. Is he a good player? Yes. Is he a stud? Not yet. We hope he can grow into one, but not yet. And that’s not hatin’.

This is fair.

He’s obviously not defensive All-Pro material, yet, but watching Budda Baker week in & week out to conclude he’s not a good player or just a “average player” is wild.

O think “average” comes when you see the splash plays and then you see him give up receptions. It’s likebtheres no middle ground for him. Either he makes a great play or he’s outta position. When you average the plays it’s, well, average.
