Is Chris Young ready yet?

I was wondering how much longer do you think Chris Young is from being called up? Is he ready now?

I don't think he's called up unless at least one of the dinosaurs gets injured. Scott Hairston would probably be the first option to get called up though with CQ not on the 40 man roster.

It's a given that he'll be up in September though. I was really impressed by him when I saw him play. The Eric Davis comparison I have read in the past really fits.

I would definitely put Scotty Hairston before Chris Young, IMO. He still needs some time to bake at AAA.

The problem with Hairston is he's out of options.. If he stinks up the joint, he can't be sent down without running the risk of losing him.

I dont think thats accurate. If he didnt have options he wouldnt have been able to be sent down to the minors after this last spring training without passing through waivers.

True, but with the way Hairston is hitting the baseball, his value now is probably going to be fairly high, enough so to where I doubt he'd pass through waivers.

He doesnt have to pass through waivers since he has an option year left.

Yeah he is in the middle of his third option year. He has until next year to be able to be sent down without passing through waivers.

I would say Young isn't ready. He has to show more control at the plate. His KO/BB ratio is horrible
