Is D'Antoni expendable now we don't have Kobe?

The general conspiracy theory was we put D'Antoni in the head coaches slot because supposedly Kobe wanted to play for him. Then Sarver bought the team, and for whatever reason there seemed a shift in philosophy going for Nash. Do you guys think we may see ANOTHER coaching change this season if the Suns get off to a slow start? Would Sarver go outside the Suns family to hire a coach? Does Sarver have any influence with the C's still there?

I do not believe that.

Jerry C. is in charge for three more years, make no mistake about that.

He sold the team with clearly defined rules..........he rules for three more years.

I would bet a lot of money that Sarver can only inject his thoughts but does not have the final say for three years, some influence? for sure, but limited.

D'Antoni is just like any other coach when it comes to getting fired, do good or you will be fired!

I don't believe for a second that D'Antoni's head-coaching position ever had anything to do with his connection to Kobe Bryant.

I don't know where that came from. D'Antoni and Iavorini were brought in because of a long-standing reputation of developing young players. D'Antoni was the natural next-in-line for head coach when the situation came up, and not because of Kobe.

D'Antoni will not be fired before the season starts. The Suns always wait until a few months in to fire them.

Seriously, D'Antoni was hired with the thought he might become the next coach. It is my suspicion that Frank Johnson stopped listening too him for fear that Mike was trying to take Frank's job.
