Is it already time to consider Nkemdiche a bust?

That's just not true. It's been awhile but I researched it a couple years ago and more than 50% of 2nd round picks(can't remember the exact %) never impact an NFL roster whatsoever.

If you get one that's a cornerstone of your team, it's a luxury. I agree there can be a lot of good players found in round 2 but expecting them to be a core player is a reach at best. Ideally, you are correct. Realistically, you're wrong. Minter, in no way, is a bust.

Minter is not a bust in my opinion as a NFL player but he is just on the wrong team for what he offers, he is a thumper meant to do the dirty work in a 4-3 defense (but like a fullback, a player of his skill set is now without a solid position in a pass happy league) and lacks the versatility to play for what the Cardinals run and demand of the position... and I guess one could call him a bust merely because his type of football is in the wrong era

I can't believe guys are still having the Minter is a bust conversation what grand little world do these people live in where every starter on your defense is an all pro. He's a solid NFL pro who gets the best out of his talent. You need guys like that on your defense your fooling yourself if you think your gonna have an all pro at every position

He is not a bust, doesnt fit the scheme, our pass rusher are literally defensive end, so its required to have dinamic ILB,speedy with cover ability

All I know is Nkemdiche should be playing full time...See what you got.

I agree, or at least getting a share of snaps. This is not protection on the offensive line but the DL where removed from less complicated responsibilities his job is to create havoc... turn him loose

I don't understand why any team would accept anything less than a 1st round choice to be at the very least a solid contributor by this point in the season. When your 1st round pick is still riding the pine this far into the season you have to ask yourself if it was a good choice.

Plenty of young guys step in and play right away. Including guys drafted before/after Nkemdiche.

Our window is closing on our current run. We do not need project players right now. We need impact players.

There was probably a thread like this about Humphrey last year. Lets see what happens in training camp. As bad as we played we were 2 missed FG's away from winning the division.

Just to recap...for the 2016 season, Nkemdiche registered approximately 1 assisted tackle, and 1 pass defensed. Great stats...

Cards fans need to be real here, Calais isn't coming back, which I think is a major mistake despite the age & $$$ he's gonna make. That's the exact reason IMO the drafted Nkembusty. Plus they've got to resign Jones.

Hated the draft pick & hate letting Tree man go because I think Jones & the Junkyard dog benefited off the edges because of #93 presence. IMO talent & athletic ability are God given talents. What separates the great/very good from "just another guy" is their desire & dedication to their craft. IMO Nkembusty doesn't have that & tried to get by on his God given abilities since HS, which is why he rarely produced in college & rarely saw the field for Big Red in 2016. Let's hope he wants to be great or Keim drafted another bust!

I wonder if this is just BA trying to break him like he did Humphries so he doesn't carry his College ways into his NFL career. The guys was a risk and had a questionable ethic and just as his rookie sideline season seemed to mature DJ it might light a fire under Nkemdiche. Unfortunately we wont know what we have in him until next season. I liked the results with DJ.

Yeah--hopefully we can get 12 games of below-average play from Bobby like we did from DJ this year.

DJ Humphries is far from a success story at this point.
