Is it just me or did ESPN completly ruin MNF?

NFL Primetime used to be the best wrap up show. Now it's 15 minutes of covering the Monday night game, 15 minutes coverage of two games, 15 minutes of banter between the panel and another 15 minutes of the other 13 games played on Sunday. I think they had a minute worth of highlights from the Cards game. The also do their gameball giveaways 5 times during the show. As for the pre-game it sucks. They hype the game for an hour and a half(usually a crappy game to boot) and the beginning itself sucks. That opening with the city turning into a stadium is stupid and they barely play the best theme in football. And do we really need to see Kornheiser's bus pulling in? I mean really WGAF? He's bad, not Bryant Gumbel bad, but maybe Dennis Miller bad. Sorry for whining, but they just took a really good night for football and ruined it. Thanks for letting me air that out it's been pent up for a while!

Kornheiser is the worst broadcaster EVER! At least Dennis Miller was funny.

If I hear him mention his stupid fantasy football team one more time I am going to throw something at my T.V. Really how Theisman hasn't smacked him around yet is beyond me..

The matchups stink too. At least Green Bay or Philly isn't playing again. Seriously, our game was the best (despite how painfully it ended).

Oh yeah and what is with the player introductions. That has to be the dumbest idea ever made for football broadcasts.

I couldnt agree more
Its sad but I relegate the remote to the CEO on Mondays now.
ESPN is going to take in in the shorts with their ratings and theyll blame the NFL and everyone else they can before they admit to producing a crappy product!!!

And who is that kornhusker idiot anyway?

He's so dumb he couldnt find his own ass with both hands and an ass map!!!

I must be the only guy who like Tony K. I really miss his ESPN radio show. I do agree that the 4 hour MNF pregame show is horrible. They truthfully start in the studio hours before Berman, etc. get going.

ESPN ruined everything. I like sports in spite of them.

Tony K is good at just about everything he does except doing commentary for MNF. He admits he doesn't know why they hired him to do it considering he's never done it before. Disney/ABC is trying to get a 3 man team similar to what they had in the "good old days" with Howard Cossell(sp?).

MNF has been on a downward spiral for a while. They tried continually to make it more then just a game and its been going down hill ever since. I don't care about ABC/ESPN/Disney and what they are trying to promote on a weekly basis, I honestly don't really care who the commentators are (if they're bad enough just put the game on mute and listen to music) ... I like most people in the U.S. just want to watch a good game. They've completely lost track of what made the game a weekly event in the first pace and its a shame

BTW I don't punish ESPN for their pregame shows because quite frankly all of the pregame shows are garbage. I don't have any problems with Sunday Night Football (which evidently many people have MNF confused with)

Sportscenter isn't even worth watching anymore if you ask me, its sucked for years.

ESPN, as well as almost every other station, overproduces this stuff. Let the game sell itself.

I really do like Sunday night football, and ESPN tries to do too much with everything, but I really enjoyed the pregame when the Cards were on Monday night.

Are you kidding or do you have alzheimers? Except for small blurbs about the stadium and Leinart, it was a lovefest for the Bears and how they were going to go undefeated on their way to winning the SuperBowl. They kept comparing them to SuperBowl shuffle Bears of Mike Ditka, replaying that season's highlights. It was terrible. I was pissed before the game ever started and haven't watched MNF since. I won't until they at least replace Kornholio either.

You did? They spent most of the time belittling the Cards and "crowning" the Bears. But we let 'em off the hook.

monday night football isn't what it use to be. i don't know why they can't have do monday night game the same way they do the sunday night game. you can have the 2 most interesting games on prime time. both channels would bennifit from it. so will the fans of the nfl. i am with evil ash when he says he just wants to watch a good football game. to me commentators matter. they monday night crew just sucks butt. i feel they need commentators that can make the games interesting. bring on dick vermil, jaws, and the ageless wonder pat summerall.

Nothing was better than NFL countdown, (NOT STUPID NFL BLITZ) followed by ESPN Sunday night football with Mike Patrick, Paul McGuire, and even Joe Theisman. Why the hell do they always have to ruin good things...

I don't know why MNF struggles with a 3-man concept when using two good announcers, IMO, function better.
