Is network NBC really the only way to watch these games? I'm not seeing alternate channel listings on DirecTV so far, and that will be a serious problem for me.
OK, it's not acceptable. The USA networks and NBC alt networks have even less coverage than NBC -- hockey games start to finish, but none of the interesting competitions. How can I access Canadian or international coverage online? I've heard there are restrictions to getting Canadian TV?
I'm no technophile, so can't speak to restrictions, etc. but, the host broadcaster up here is www.ctv.ca and programming is shared with www.tsn.ca and www.sportsnet.ca
I believe all of them would have some sort of live feeds through their sites.
Between the 3 we are getting complete coverage of all events.
Dont worry.. You guys arent missing anything.. Canada has officially screwed up the Olympics.. I wish none of it was televised..
Dick Clark -- Wow. You're so right! I have to say -- Costas, Dick Fricken Buttons -- all the talking heads are REALLY REALLY OLD. It's like that awful Tim McCarver, talk about propping up the dead. Where are the new good sports announcers?
Well, I'm enjoying it ALL!
Sorry, that unlike a bright guy like you, we didn't think of inviting Mother Nature to do a run through of the Olympics before the opening.
Eh from the opening cerwmonies when Gretzy went OJ style in a white truck to end it to now, its been a disaster to watch...Well, I'm enjoying it ALL!

Is it wrong to expect Canada, of all countries, to know how to use a Zamboni to prep the ice?? Still can't believe it took coaches from several countries to stop the ice racing due to the conditions of the ice!
And we don't need to bring up the mishap in the luge do we?? I mean, guys flying around at 100 MPH and it took a guy to die before they figured out it might be a good idea to place some padding over exposed STEEL beams??
1) They weren't Zamboni's they were new environmentally correct machines, and perhaps that was the problem. They've actually brought in a couple of Zamboni's to correct things. In the end, the racing continues, so much ado about nothing.
2) There were 5,000 runs down that track, which was designed by the international federations that use the track before the fatal "freak" incident. And, by the way, I;ve never known humans to put fences near cliffs until someone goes over. The truly unfortunate, in a sports sense, is the over reaction. Male athletes who have trained for years on the site, are now being asked to use the "women's tees" on the takeoff, and the women are now using a starting gate used by 14 year old juniors.
3) As for the weather: Its the warmest its been in 100 years. Its a battle but, in the end... they'll get it done.
3) I've attended the Olympics in Montreal, Lake Placid and Atlanta... and none are perfect, so I don't get particularly disturbed by the "glitches", and incidents. I don't dwell, for example, on a fatal bombing in Atlanta. I concentrate on the wonderful athletic competitions, and will, no doubt, take that away from this gathering.

Unless you were a competitor whose warm-up routine was disrupted. They probably don't think it was "nothing".
This will go down as one of the worst Olympics ever. I know none of the previous Olympics were perfect but there have been too many problems all ready and we are only six days in.
As for NBC, they suck. We are in Arizona and none of it is being televised. That is pathetic.
