I think it was the opposite. Most hated seeing Shawn go, but I wouldn't say most hated the deal.

Agreed. People were buzzing about that deal and were glad to see him go because of the bitching. I wouldn't go back for one second.

I didnt have a problem with the deal except shaqs longer contract. Remember, the suns got rid of marcus banks terrible contract in that deal as well. I would have been happy with shawn as a sun as long as they kept KT. When they ditched KT and had NO center to defend opposing bigs, the deal was a no brainer for the short term. For the intermediate term, there is shawns expiring contract(valuable this year) that would have allowed the suns to get a nice FA. If the suns would have kept KT, he probably would have been on the suns @ vet min this year.

I also think that amare has "gone Diaw" this year with shaq commanding more and more touches. KT/amare was a better combo offensively as KT could hit that 15-17' shot and helped spacing. Seems like amare is passive and more indecisive than I have ever seen him, "a diaw type effect".

I think about this group(in my dreams)

KT/skinner
amare/amundsen
Hill/ Barnes
Jrich/ LB
Nash/FA for marions expiring contract

KT/Skinner/Hill Barnes could have all been vet mins, so plenty of $$ for that FA.

I remember my friend saying during Granger's last season in college that he felt he was going to be a star in the NBA. He talked about how he carried his team, and how it would translate well into the nba, and some other stuff, but it was a while ago and I forget the rest. It wasn't immediate, but he was right. Sometimes it's just funny to look back on things.
