Is Veldeheer the best contract in FA so far?

Veldheer wasn't even the best LT signing, Monroe was. I have a sneaky suspicion that while Veldheer will be an upgrade at LT for the Cards, he's not the upper echelon LT some are trying to make him to be.

You keep saying this man but I dont agree with you. Neither do the Cardinals. There is not that much to base it on either if you go look at 2012 the last full season the both played. Keep in mind your boy Monroe was had for a mid round pick last year and no one here wanted him. Hes a lazy SOB that gets by on physical talent. No thanks.

I think the best signings in some order are Veldheer, Verner (Licht FTW), and michael Bennett. That last one was a great underatted move. He was their Karlos Dansby but unlike Los wanted to be a part of something bigger then himself and took less money when it was reported Chicago was going to blow the doors out for him and he could play with his brother.

We are still working to get ot Seattles level in that respect. Im sure a Super Bowl helps but guys want to stay/play there.

Some, including Peter King, say the real genius in Seattle isn't John Schneider or Pete Carroll, but Scot McCloughan and I'm inclined to agree. He was instrumental in building the roster than Jim Harbaugh inherited in San Francisco, then went on to Seattle and helped Schneider and Carroll do the same. Hopefully at some point he gets his own gig and the Seahawks start to lose their mojo.

Hopefully, Steve Keim can accomplish what Scot McCloughan has.

The Cards preferred Veldheer and that's fine. He's still not a better player than Monroe. I've never heard of Monroe being classified as lazy(do you have examples?). I've heard he can be kind of a prima donna at times but I've never heard lazy and is supposedly a good teammate.

Veldheer plays nastier than Monroe and that's obviously what the Cards were looking for as Keim even mentioned in the presser that one of the things they liked about him was that he'll get into a few scraps in practice. That's all fine and good but I prefer the guy who actually plays better on Sundays.

I don't dislike Veldheer. I just think this top 10 tackle talk is going a bit overboard and he has a ways to go to reach that level. Meanwhile, Monroe has been pretty much regarded as a top 10 LT for a few years now.
