my direct cox at home clocked 33mbps down

Wireless clocked 11 down if close to the box.

Not getting wireless outside, brick house and wifi is in a corner of home instead of middle.

considering access point or something for living room.

Wow, just did mine and it was at 4.3 for download and 5 for upload. I am paying for the fastest internet, so something isn't right. I am going to try it again later but I will be calling Cox asap if it's that low again.

Did it on two separate computers, one connected directly to the box and one wireless and it was about the same.

Thank you so much for doing this thread Jw7 because it made me notice my speed sucks and that I need to replace my modem. Who knows how long I've been getting 3 mbs when I am paying for 25mb!!!

wow not even close. Lucy's laptop gets close to that for download but not upload. Both our laptop and desktop are wireless though. We have Xfinity apparently the internal wiring in our place is not good, the landlord won't fix it, so we had to move the gateway to the living room by the tv. My desktop can't get 5 bars in the bedroom so the speeds are lower.

They recently doubled our speed, the laptop is getting close to double now but the desktop still isn't.

At work with AT&T business DSL, download 4.92 upload .63. And you wonder why our users complain about internet speeds.

I wanted to do a realistic load test, so I did it while being wireless on my laptop while my Playstation is streaming Netflix on the same wireless network. Not too shabby. I am going to have to plug in directly to the router and see what I get.
