love it when the guy who throws incredibly stupid projected arguments out at others then tells them to lighten up when that crap is shoved back up their butt.

Good form moderator.

Wow. Sorry, but you are misreading me. It is okay. I still love you.

I think if you're trying to rebuild intelligently, these are the type of FA signings you have to make. Middle of the road talent that you don't have to overpay too much for.

You can send big money in FA, sure, but spend it retain your heroes. Your Fitzs, PPs, and Chandler Jones-es.

I hope everybody agrees that Superbowls are "won" less during FA, and more on draft day.
This is kind of right. This team is still badly in need of star power, though.

We had Aboushi last year, who was terrible to even Seahawks homers. They wanted to re-sign Sweezy. He is solid, and can fight to keep the starting gig while we try and draft an upgrade this draft and next.

If he and Pugh are better LG's then it would have made sense to sign a RG like AJ Cann. I think ARZ still needs to address the OL in the draft as Humphries, Pugh, Sweezy & Gilbert have missed significant time with injuries. I think Humphries is gone after this year and this is a FA year for Gilbert. If Pugh can't stay on the field then this OL could be as bad as last year unless ARZ drafts an OT & OG early.

From what I remember Sweezy has always been a nasty run blocker. He kind of carried over the aggressiveness he had as a DT. Nasty run blocking with a demeanor is exactly what we were missing ever since Iupati's injuries took a toll on him. Looks like Sweezy has improved in pass protection as well over the years. Considering he came from the defensive side, it probably took him a bit longer to get the technique down.

Do we know the numbers yet? 2 year deal for a player who just entered his prime, again considering he came from defense. I think he is an immediate upgrade and should give us consistency.

Saffold is older, had injuries in the past and wasn't regarded anything special until McVay installed his high flying offense. Just a gut feeling but I think Saffold will revert to his old ways.

Sweezy is a good FA pickup. The best O lines aren't the ones with the overpriced talent all over. The best are the ones that stay on the field together. Avoiding OL injury and game planning to their strengths are the key to offensive success.

A meh, signing. Not a big fan. Seems like the Cards are always bargain shopping and hoping for the best when they sign someone. That rarely happens. Go out and get some talent.

It is a similar signing to Suggs. Cards get a starting player, on a low cost and short term deal, who allows them to draft an OG early or late depending on who is available. People need to keep this in perspective. 2yrs totalling 12 mil would be appropriate.

Yep. I guess Seattle really wanted to resign him.

I think Sweezy is remaking the offensive line in Kuglers image. He's a tough guy tone setter type.

Often fans view roster construction like it's Madden or fantasy football. Fans don't understand that the lockerroom needs guys that influence the team to play better.

Wolfley said that Brock Huard and everyone in Seattle wanted him back. Really tough nosed player. The Cardinals offensive line got some with Sweezy and Gilbert.

I say if Seattle really wanted him, they would have kept him.

It should be qualified that Seattle wanted him at a certain price.

Not sure the financials/guarantees, but 2 years seems favorable

I wouldn't put durability/injury risk as a plus .... There is legitimate concern there, but again 2 years

Not much to note on LG/RG difference. It's not that he's better at LG. He was just better than the other options and Fluker was better at RG and he worked better next to Ifedi at RT

Sweezy stepped in and did a fine job.

He's got a good edge to his game and works really hard. He's better going forward and in run blocking. He can get confused in pass blocking and can get physically beat on the line.

I would have liked to have him back as versatile depth, but would hope there was a plan in place to get better there

Definitely a serviceable player

Don't know the financials, but I would have been all for 2 years
