Sweezy has less of his money tied to being healthy than does Fluker in his two-year deal. Sweezy got a larger signing bonus ($3M to $1M) and has a total of $1M in per-game roster bonuses plus $2M in PT incentives compared to $2M in roster bonuses and $3M in incentives for Fluker.

It seemed like the Seahawks would bring D.J. Fluker and J.R. Sweezy if they could re-sign them for around $3M APY apiece. Fluker got exactly that but Sweezy got more from Arizona. Per source his two-year deal has a base value of $9M, max of $11M w/ incentives and $3M guaranteed.

Kliff Kingsbury said both of the Cardinals' new offensive linemen, Marcus Gilbert and JR Sweezy, will be inserted into the lineup immediately, but it's uncertain yet which guard position Sweezy will play.

Seattle media are such Homer's. Listening to them for years, they love to find every little ray of sunshine in that drab, depressing place.

They are super butthurt that Sweezy left them, that's for sure. They dont have a viable replacement on the roster.

Fluker is the better player, but obvious injury risk

Simmons played ok, but is a development project and also got injured late in the year - should be ready for camp, etc

Iupati helps with depth as well

They drafted Jamarco Jones last year, but he missed the season with a training camp injury

George Fant came back and held up after a nasty leg injury the year prior

Sweezy endeared himself to fans, but isnt a great player - Seattle had plenty of not great players that can step in, especially with signing iupati (himself not great)

Will come down to how young guys develop in year 2 of the new line coach and where the injuries land

Keeping Sweezy would be nice and a 2 year deal is a good length ..... But if they had a price for the spot, I wouldn't inflate it much to keep him
