Russ- funny they saw the TD pass as underthrown. I saw Plummer freeze the linebackers with the roll out, then he pump faked the defender covering Lelie which got him wide open, then I saw Lelie slow down near the goal line because he couldn't believe it was possible to catch a ball 55 yards from the line of scrimmage. Lelie then had to jump to catch the ball, as it almost flew over his head.

I've never seen a pass fly 60 yards in the air, and not be a spiral.

Oh, and I don't care that Madden says the center is responsible for the fumbled snaps...they're not any more acceptable there, than they were here.

It's just preseason.

Denver quarterback Jake Plummer got the playing hard part right, but that didn't stop him from being booed in his first home game with the Broncos.

Plummer fumbled his first snap, threw a pass that Colts linebacker Gary Brackett should have intercepted, and missed a wide-open Ed McCaffrey on what would have been an 18-yard touchdown. And that was just on the first drive.

"I don't think he was nervous," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said. "I just think he was like everybody else -- looking forward to playing the game."

Plummer was much better on Denver's second drive, thanks to Ashley Lelie.

Plummer rolled out on the first play of the series, thought about running, then pulled up for a pass at the last second. Lelie adjusted to the slightly underthrown ball and made a leaping grab over Mike Doss for a 55-yard touchdown.

But that was about it for Plummer.

He dropped another snap in the second quarter, then was booed after Anthony Floyd intercepted his overthrown pass on Denver's first drive of the third period.

It was his final pass before Steve Beuerlein took over midway through the third quarter.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!:lmao: :biglaugh:

HE SUCKS JUST ADMIT IT! HA! HE SUCKTY SUCK SUCKS!

Goodness! How many Cardinals games have you watched in the last 6 years!?

This is ridiculous. This sounds like typical Plummer football.
3 turnovers and 1 good play.

THIS IS LUDICRIS! HE STINKS!

From what I saw he will always do the above, but his bad passes are being caught. His receivers have shown adjustments and the ability to catch the bad pass. I don't know how long that will last. But I know the really bad pass is just a play away.

I refused to give Jake ANY cushion on this thread FOR OVER 6 MONTHS! I have heard every NFL Fan, expert, and commentator call the Cardinals fools for getting rid of Jake Plummer. SO HE MUST BE GOOD RIGHT?

WRONG ! HE SUCKS! 2INT? And 2 Fumbles ! ARE YOU KIDDING ?

THAT IS ENOUGH TO LOSE A GAME TO ANY TEAM IN THIS LEAGUE.

Jake blows!

What I wish would have happened is that the colts hadn't blown the coverage so badly. It would have forced Jake to make a decision (since the one he made was a no-brainer). Would he have still tried to force it to Lelie or would he have taken advantage of the 20+ yards he seemed to have in front of him.

The ball was probably slightly underthrown but that part of it is irrelevant since the catch was made for TD.

I still fail to see how you look past the certain INT missed by the LB and IMO one one of the 2 fumbled snaps was the centers fault.

Take a read of this. Last night's game was basically a micrcosm of Jake's play in AZ:

Rugby- how many games have I watched the last 6 years?

Ninety seven. Not including all the preseason games, and the training camp games, but including the two playoff games in 98.

What's your point?

LOL!

Also during the game, they put up percentages and descriptions of those percentages. Jake fell into the below poor category. (Can't remeber what they called it.)

Saw the pass to Lelie. I didn't think it was a pretty pass, but Denver fans cheered then. I fell asleep after that.

Wow, if only the Warren Commision had spent as much time on the JFK assassination as we do on the length of Jake's passes.

We've had 3 week debates on whose fault an INT really was, this is nothing (-:

FYI I've always suspected Jake shot JFK, he was of course aiming at James Earl Ray but missed.

My point is that Plummer played exactly the same way he has always played here.

Regardless of his surroundings Plummers is NOT a NFL starting QB. And the fact that everyone and thier mother who are not Cardinals fans said we were wrong to let Jake go is and will be eating crow for a long long time.

I had nothing against Plummer untill he and others blamed his lack of success on the Cardinals organization!

Complete B.S. and lack of responsibility for his actions!

I'm sure once Anquan gets involved we'll soon find the answers to both of these questions...

Interesting take and pretty accurate the problem Jake has now is increased expectations. Ironically his play in Denver would probably be good enough here since his recievers will bail him out a lot but there it will get him ridden out of town.

That pass for a touchdown was a true wounded duck. It was very Jake, got the job done but leaves you just scratching your head saying WTF was that?

He will shortly grow to appreciate us rats asses because he's gonna have a pack of pissed off donkey lovers hounding him after every screw up now.

conrad...Wait until you get to go see jake play the chiefs in Kansas City..My prediction: it will be ugly..

My other thought is that 75,000 screaming, pissed off bronco fans will rattle jake after he makes a mistake than the 30,000 cardinals fans who booed him in az (the fans from other teams at sun devil stadium were busy laughing)..and then there are some crossover ASU and cardinals fans who did not have the heart to boo heavily at jake...

Jake The Teaser

Jake so far in his NFL career has been the ultimate teaser. The guy who some called "the next Joe Montana" in his early years has proved that he doesn't have an NFL arm...yet can produce some TD's. He reminds me of the basketball player who can't shoot but still scores.

What we saw last night is why some of us loved him and some of us hated him....we loved the scramblin....throwin on the run....making something out of nothing....we hated the fumbled snaps....the poor decisions....the dying duck passes...and of course the INT's.

All I can say is that after watchin last night's game....I'll take Blake.

I compare him to a basketball player who makes a few dunks and blocked shots ala Keon Clark. You wow at the plays but when the game is over he's got 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and 5 fouls and eventually you start to realize he's not that good. All he makes is the exciting plays, he doesn't make the routine plays that other PF's make.

That is Jake, outside the pocket he's fun to watch, but in the pocket he just can't consistently make the plays. I read 2 days ago that he had precisely 3 300 yard passing games in the 4 years of his monster contract! I haven't checked but assuming that is true, and considering how often we were behind in those 4 years, it's amazing.

The problem he has now is he's on a team that expects to go deep into the playoffs and nobody is going to forgive his mistakes this year. With us so often people expected to lose, they didn't see Jake's mistakes as game changing, they will in Denver.

They have a weak pass rush and secondary as well, so they're going to have to outscore people.

So much for ...we don't care what Jake does, he's not a Cardinal anymore let it go, I really like Jake, he can't throw the long ball. How many posts in this thread? You guys are obsessed and will site any imperfection hoping doing so will justify your position.
Food for thought... The Broncos gave Shanahan a contract extension after signing Jake. What did Mac get for the "Little Fella?"

Personally, I hope Jones, Boston and Plummer all faily miserably and I don't really care what anyone thinks about it.

I could take or leave the conversation. It seems to be the only one you join in on, speaking of obsessed.

I agree with Section 11. Its football..someone has to lose. May as well be these three (although jones will probably go to the super bowl - hopefully he will contribute little).

Jake did some nice things after he left (like run the full page thank you in the newspaper)...but his comments about re-committing himself in the offseason ticked me off..also..everyone gushing over him in the NFL media (with a few exceptions) is making me ill.

Me too. I'll throw Pittman and Randy Moss in there too because they are a-holes. It's fun to root against the players you dislike. Nothing wrong with that.

I wonder if he'll be able to use his rat's ass line this year.

Jake going to find out that other teams don't settle for mediocre results. The teams and their fans actually expect results!:stupid:
