Well at least according to hoopshype we have Jameer Nelson scheduled for a workout today.

Anyone else feel like we get much less draft coverage than the last 2 years this year?

We haven't really heard about any scheduled workouts on suns.com.

I really like Jameer Nelson.

I'm not sure how much he'll continue to improve, but he got the job done at St. Joes.

Has one of the meanest crossovers in the game, is a fine leader, great court vision, and thinks like a true point guard.

Wouldn't mind having him.

The thing that I don't like about Jameer is that he is "already" 22 and probably 5'10-5'11.

He reminds me of Damon Stoudamire.

Nelson has been getting mentioned as possibles by the Clippers and even the Bobcats, but I really doubt it. Reports I've read in the Philadelphia papers are opposed to the Sixers taking him a the #9 slot.

If for some reason Suns get a 2nd Round Pick (maybe even in McGrady trade) - I'm glad Suns worked out Romain Sato, I like his game. Another backcourt defender in Iguodala mode, not a comparison but can really defend. BC or Mark West mentioned desire in a prospect - which might keep Suns from working out 1 of my other favorite 2nd Rounders (Herve Lamizana) but so far I'm pleased with bringing in Sato...

I really like Sato also as a defensive specialist. He has a nice shot, but he had trouble with his shooting this season.

Damon Stoudamire is a very good basketball player. If it weren't for the way he acts off the court and his huge contract he would be looked at as a very good point guard in the NBA. The other thing is that Nelson is a very good defender. He may be short, but he's very strong. It's not going to be easy for point guards to back down.

I'm not advocating that the Phoenix Suns take him, but I would not complain if he was their choice. Again this year I will probably end up saying that a lot because we just haven't seen the majority of these prospects play enough. If I had seen all of these guys play as much as I've seen Gordon, Okafor, Nelson, or Iguodala I would feel much more confident in saying who I do and do not want the Phoenix Suns to draft.

If the suns take Jameer Nelson in the draft I will be extremely upset with them.
The suns are in a building mode, they do not need a 5' 11" point guard.

Barbosa was just a rookie last year. He came from another country, did not talk English well, was thrown in the lineup because of a trade and did a decent job. I am not sure if Barbosa will ever be an all-star, but in time he will be a decent or better point guard.

I also strongly believe that Vujanic will be here next year.

I know it's too early to really get a good feel who the Suns might draft, but it would appear that the players the Suns are working out thus far (except for J. Nelson) are second round type players.

This might support the T-Mac acquisition if they got a second round pick from say Orlando or just support the idea the Suns are looking at moving down in the draft. This appears to be a deep draft with few clear cut upper echelon players.

However, I would like the Suns also to entertain trading down with Boston for a couple later first round picks.

Or they may just be looking for something to do.

Second round players routinely get cut. It is easier to watch the waiver wire if you know who the guys are.

Realistically, it makes sense to have a book on every top prospect. The Suns traded for JJ because they had a good idea about what he was capable of (eventually) and not just what he did in Boston.
