This guy is a liability who can't game plan against indomitable QBs like Andy Dalton, Landry Jones, Nick Foles, Russel Wilson and now Blaine Gabbert.

We need to trade him and Kevin Minter for Ray Horton this offseason or there is no hope.

Stop Re-Registering troll.

Um, Dalton is 3rd in the league in QB rating and is a top 10 QB overall playing for a 9-2 team. Hardly Ryan Lindley. Russel Wilson today slung 345 yards and 5 TD's on a team we could only muster 13 points on so I'm a little confused on what you mean by indomitable.

LOL.

No where close to as bad as Billy Davis, just ask the Eagles.

I told everyone in Philly that would listened about Davis, and now......well, Happy Thanksgiving is all I have to say about that.

Why insult the guy about his weight?

Besides, the guy looks like a power lifter to me. I bet you wouldn't call him fat to his face.

The offense was awful yesterday and still the D stepped up and only allowed 13 points.

That felt like a Drew Stanton game from last season, and you know what? No one complained about the defense in those games.

This isn't anything new. This has been a problem for a few seasons now.

http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/pointsagainst?positionId=4&statview=totals

They aren't that bad:

They've given up 495 yards and 4 TD's to TE's in 12 weeks. 2 of those TD's came against CIN, who have the NFL-leading TD receiver at that position. TE's have caught 46 out of 77 passes thrown their way.

That averages to 41 yards and 4 catches a game.

If you look at fantasy scoring on most sites, which takes into account TD's/yards against this defense, the Cards are the 6th-best defense against TE's thru 12 games.

Eagles have allowed 90 points the past two games.

Billy Davis was inarguably the most frustrating DC I've ever seen.

Ranking our DCs over the past decade:

1. Bowles
2. Horton
3. Bettcher
4. Pendergast
5. Davis

1 and 2 were great. 3 is ok, but leaves room for improvement. 4 was mildly incompetent. 5 was a tire fire.

don't know how anyone can argue with the above.

Spot on TJ. I happen to think Bettcher will get better, and if he doesn't Arians will move on. I trust Keim/Arians are watching and working with him to make sure of it. If he had some better tools at LB I think the story is different too.

You obviously haven't watched Dalton all season...he's carved up just about every team they've played, except the Texans...Foles wasn't the issue with the Rams, it was Gurley...Landry Jones played lights out, and the Cards were clearly prepared for Vick, who they held in check until he got hurt...Again, Russell Wilson isn't an overnight sensation in the NFL...Blaine Gabbert just carved up the Seahawks last week and even Arians praised his game.

If you want to nitpick only giving up 13 points on the road, go ahead...but the defense wasn't an issue today.

Blaine Gabbert would be someone who BA would LOVE because he has a VERY strong arm.

I've seen Blaine for years but he's just missing something I personally would pass but that is assuming what he is missing he'll never get.

Anyone saying the D played fine because we only gave up 13 points clearly didn't watch the game. Now, I didn't catch the first half, but they fell to pieces in the 2nd half. It was UGLY to watch. Both the O and the D didn't play well in that game. But we squeaked it out, and that's all that matters in the end.

I fully admit, I only made it home for the final 3 minutes of the game, so I can only go by the score in my assessment. That final sack was huge and we still gave up 18 yards on the next play. UGH! Thankfully, they needed 20.

Would you rather have Gabbert over Stanton and/or USC #2? (sorry his name is escaping me as I type this...)

I think I would...

yeah.. our DC seems to be doing a pretty good job with a really weak LB core, and a questionable pass rush.

Plus, or front four is all banged up right? At least Rucker and Redding were both out tonight?

He's leveraging the strength of the defense, the secondary, for everything its worth.

Let's give it up to our fat Billy Davis for making an adjustment at the half and keeping AD in check (13-15 total yds? in 2nd half). That to me is impressive, even though we sucked in coverage and sucked with our blitzes (save the last one).

It really threw me off when we got that 12 men on the field penalty by trying to substitute in Minter in an obvious passing down. They were bringing him in just to run more middle linebacker stunts. That seems to be the only blitz we have.
