The 2025 NFL draft is taking place, Thursday-Saturday, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Former Tennessee defensive lineman James Pearce Jr. was selected by Atlanta in the first round (No. 26 overall) of the NFL draft.
Pearce Jr. appeared in 13 games for the Vols in 2024, recording 38 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, 7.5 sacks, one pass deflection, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
He totaled 71 tackles, 29.5 tackles for a loss, 19.5 sacks, one interception, one touchdown, three pass deflections, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery from 2022-24 with the Vols.
Pearce Jr. is from Chambers High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Tennessee has produced 388 NFL draft picks all time, dating to 1936. The 2025 NFL draft will continue Friday with rounds 2-3, and rounds 4-7 will take place Saturday at Lambeau Field.
