On paper, you'd never even give him a second thought in any of his on-screen fights.

However, he always finds a way to prevail. It's the epitome of the rugged individualism that America is.

To not think that McClane would defeat any of the more highly trained professional killers he has either already faced, or will face, is to doubt the idea of America itself!

I recently re-watched The Bourne Ultimatum and Bourne disarms and kicks the asses of about 10 trained killers in that movie.

McClane would have absolutely NO CHANCE against Bourne, under any circumstances.

I haven't even watched Ultimatum yet. I have owned it for a few months, and I will watch it with Linder for the first time this weekend. I'm excited.

As has been said, that's because he's a movie hero and he can get away with that. Problem is, Bourne is a movie hero too. None of the baddies McLain killed would match Bourne. Simply put, it's no contest.

The movies are very different as well. Bourne movies are serious and Die hards not so much...
