I guess Mike does not think Horton is HC material.

Pretty much proves what I have been saying all morning that Horton is the cards last resort.

I don't believe La Canfora.

This guy has hit stuff left and right:
http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=15484767#15484767

My buddy was very vague but here's kinda what I gathered from him:

-Bidwill/Keim aren't "excited" about Horton's offensive staff choices
-Mike McCoy interview was good not great and they think some of McCoy's offensive staff choices will be blocked from coming here
-Gruden's interview was ok
-Haley wants to be guaranteed the job and doesn't want to have to interview for it

He said Keim and Bidwill are considered interviewing more candidates but nothing's been decided. Going over names as we speak, apparently.

If its Ariens we lose Horton, Ariens is a defensive coach and would want to run his system, best case scenario is Gruden or Haley with Horton as DC

Horton is gone after next season..

Not real hot on hiring an offensive guy (for the sake of hiring one) since there has never been any correlation to offensive production under offensive minded guys. Myth.

What about Pete Carmichael Jr.? Coached under Schottenheimer and worked with Marrone and has been QB, Passing game, and OC in New Orleans for 7 years.

Why isn't he being talked about for any of the NFL Head coaching vacancies? Or has he and I just missed it.

My choice clearly would be Haley. Has HC experience and I dig what he did as OC with the Cards. No HC experiments

It's unclear whether Laconfora actually has new info on Gruden or if he's merely making a logical speculation based on Gruden being "next guy on the list."

I thouht Arians was the OC in Pitt...that's why Ben was so pissed when he was fired/left for the Indy OC job.

I don't even know why any team is considering Jay Gruden. The Bengals rode their defense to the playoffs. Gruden had the benefit of having one of the better OL's in the league and still the offense was ranked in the bottom 3rd of the league.

What are you talking about?

Arians is an OC.

Arians and Horton both coached on the same Steeler team. If Arians were interviewed and selected as the HC of the Cardinals I can garentee that Horton is our DC.
