This one's not surprising, but Colorado's offered Air Force and former Nuggets head coach Jeff Bzdelik their Head Coaching job.

The Rocky Mountain News and Colorado Springs Gazette, citing sources it didn't name, reported Tuesday afternoon that Bzdelik had agreed to the Buffaloes' offer.

The Denver Post reported on its Web site that Bzdelik told Air Force players at a 5 p.m. meeting he was still undecided about his future, according to several players who attended the meeting.

Bzdelik is believed to be the only coaching candidate to visit the Boulder campus during Bohn's nearly six-month search to replace Ricardo Patton.

I think this would be a good hire for Colorado, but by all accounts Air Force is doing all they can to keep him, including offering him a "substantial raise", with an unknown to the public monetary figure that would put him in the upper echelon of coaches, and would make him easily the highest paid in the MWC.

I thought he did one of the best coaching jobs in the country this year. I watched them play a couple of times they are so well coached on offense it's scary.

I figured he'd get a much better job than Colorado, but maybe people think he can't recruit?

To get any type of decent players to come to a Service Academy, you have to be able to recruit. Yes, your pool is much smaller, but you have to be able to convince players with some talent to go there.

And then you have to be a great coach if you did what he did this year.

I think he can do better than CU, though :)

It's been assumed here in Denver ever since they announced the firing of Patton that Jeff B would be the next coach at CU. It'd be a huge surprise if he didn't get the job.
