Jeff Garcia wants out of Cleveland. He will be 35 years old this season. He is 6' 1" and 195 lbs. Should we have any interest in him? He was good with the 49ers several years ago but is he any better than Warner? He seems injury prone. Thoughts?

I'd be more worried about Garcia than Warner, honestly. I watched a lot of Warner this year, and though the criticism of holding onto the ball played out, he managed the games pretty well. They did win 4 in a row with him, and 5 of the first 7. Their only real offensive hope was getting the ball to Tiki and Shockey, and he did both reasonably well. He didn't have the arm that Eli has, but after Carter went out, the Giants didn't have any real WR threats anyway, aside from the odd game by Toomer.

Garcia by contrast looked much less capable to me on an equally bad team. The reality is that neither excites me very much. I think Garcia was the right man at the time in SF, but I don't see him recapturing that kind of performance.

Nope, Jeff is done. He can still have a big game now and then but he's done.
