I was wondering that myself. Jeff Munn is the PA announcer for D'Backs games, so perhaps he wanted to cut his workload down to just that sport. We'll see.. If Jeff Munn isn't back as the Suns PA announcer, one thing I definitely wouldn't miss is all the rah rah cheerleading he's been doing the last few seasons. I thought it was excessive and downright annoying at times. I don't know if the cheerleading was his decision or the Suns asked him to do that. I preferred Munn when he was just doing the PA announcing, like he does at the D'Backs games. Getting the crowd pumped shouldn't be his job in my opinion. Seriously, when the Suns are down by 15-20 with a few minutes left in a game and people are already heading for the exits, do we really need the PA announcer urging everyone to stand up and make noise?

I learned my lesson with the first game of the San Antonio series last year. ;) I never count 'em out until the horn sounds.

I still can't believe I turned the TV off . . . at least they replayed the game later.

I heard somewhere (or read) that he is just going to do Dback games from now on.

Did it show whether Jeff was going to do just field-announcing or radio play-by-play with the D'backs?

Early in the season, he was the play-by-play backup each weekend when Tom Brennaman did Fox regional TV and Greg Schulte moved to TV.

But, as the season progressed, Victor Rojas (our radio color commentator) did more and more play-by-play, leaving Jeff Munn out of the picture.

I guess we'll have to wait 'til next baseball season to season what the setup is.

I like either Jeff Munn or Victor Rojas doing radio play-by-play. I prefer them to Greg Schulte, who seems to hesitate while the play is going on, then recaps what happened afterwards, when the color guy should be doing his thing.

Greg is a good guy, and has been around the Valley for a long time (he used to cover for Al McCoy on Suns games). But I think it's time for him to move on.
