62 Johnson-Webb, Jamaal, T, 6-6, 306, 23, UCFA, Alabama A&M. Could be one of the real sleeper gems of the undrafted college free agents. has the size, strength and athletic ability to play LT. At this point he's a project, but with good coaching and weight training (needs muscle tone) his rise up the depth chart could be steady.

47 Jones, Korey, ILB/OLB, 6-2, 233, 24, UCFA, Wyoming. This kid is a well-kept secret. He reminds me a lot of Missouri's Zavier Gooden---a well-rounded, swift LB who tracks the ball well and can make plays in space. Sifts through traffic and gets to the ball in a hurry. Very active in coverage. Can play 34 WILB or 43 WOLB. Was a captain at Wyoming.

89 Lawson, Javon, WR, 6-1, 183, 23, UCFA, Louisiana Lafeyette. Had a big junior year at LA-LAF: 63/1,092/17.3/8 tds. Production dropped as senior due to injuries and double teams: 40/611/15.5/5 tds. Wasn't drafted because he runs a 4.6 40. He has to prove that he can separate in the NFL. He's got very good hands, body control and can catch in a crowd.

32 Mathieu, Tyrann, S/CB/KR, 5-9, 186, 20. D-Rd. 3, LSU. Dynamic playmaking first-round talent who dropped to the third round because of his off the field marijuana issues. He's sought out the right mentor in Patrick Peterson and now, if he stays clean, he and Peterson can possibly be the Batman/Robin dynamic duo they were at LSU. Mathieu has uncanny anticipation and ball skills. High adrenaline player who has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Will need at shake off the rust after a whole season off---but should be used in a variety of positions and packages.

Of the group Johnson-Webb intrigues me the most. Doubt he makes the team, but my gut tells me that he might be a nice practice squad to player story in the future.

Was highly rated coming into the draft and then (a) was a victim of a rumor that the Oklahoma coaches "trashed" him for poor work ethic; (b) everyone saw the Tavon Austin spectacle versus Oklahoma and likely wanted to avoid taking any Oklahoma defensive players; (c) he ran a disappointing 40 time. Since then Bob Stoops has refuted the spurious rumor and in fact applauded Jefferson for playing much of the season on a bad ankle and an assortment of other ailments. What Jefferson is---he's a highly versatile safety who can play up in the box, can press TEs and slot WRs and can play effectively at FS in base and sub packages. He's a physical player who tackles well. He takes good angles and has good vision. His range in space is good, but not great---but shouldn't hurt him in a two deep safety coverage. If his attitude is good and he can stay healthy, he should make the roster and be a solid contributor on STs and sub coverage packages.

Everyone is certainly entitled to an opinion, but worth noting that Shaun Church ("Featured Columnist" on Bleacher Report) was posting here briefly last season, and IIRC is an undergrad journalism student at ASU West (or something like that) with no real credentials to speak of who was just looking for opportunities to practice sports writing and get his name out. Not trying to trash the guy by any means (like I said at the beginning, his opinion is as valid as any of ours), but personally there are dozens of posters on here I would listen to first (including Mitch).. not to mention our coaching staff's evaluation.

Gotta love Bleacher Report.. no one masquerades as a legitimate sports site better than they do!

Two opposite version

It is possible that there are two different versions because one concentrated on his receiving abilities and the other his blocking skills. That is what is different about Jefferson here on our roster. It is seldom that we bring in a TE who can both block and catch. He could be a real find for us in the long run. Only Jeff King has shown anything like that ability on our roster of TE's so far. Jefferson may not be the speediest pass-catching TE on our roster, and he might not be the best blocker, but he IS one of only two who look to be able to do both reasonably well. If he catches on, he will replace two of those one dimensional TE's on our roster today. (Housler-----can catch, cant block-----Dray, can block, can't catch).

I watched the Oklahoma vs. West Virginia game. I've never seen a safety or player look worse. I don't think he makes the team.
