Who in the Cardinals organization cut this guy. A week after the Panthers picked him up he starts at right tackle and does a hell of a job.

Article about Bridges

Foster's TD Run vs. New Orleans Watch Bridges make his man disappear.

And the o-line carousel continues....

he didn't even hit his man until Foster was already by him from what I saw?

Bridges wasn't very good here, would it shock me if he goes on to greatness in Carolina, nothing shocks me anymore. But I was not at all surprised we cut him he didn't play well here.

Not sure of his position in the past...I know this preseason he alternated starts with Wakefield when Ross went down... This type of stuff consistently happens to us. Bridges, Shelton, Kendall, and Clement are all starters in the NFL... I am sure there are more.. Next year..davis will probably be an all pro guard on another team.. Are bridges, shelton, Kendall and clement all pro? No...but they may be upgrades to what we have.

I know I know....no one wants to hear about Kendall, etc....but this is obviously a trend. As I have stated before we have spent alot of draft picks and free agent $$ on the oline...always with the same result - poor play. I am laying this one on the head coach and/or general manager for not being able to do 2 things:

1. Evaluate talent
2. teach olineman how to play.

We always seem to pick the wrong guys at this position..

rant over.

How many teams have cut Clements? Just because a player is still in the NFL doesn't make him a good player. Clements is not a quality player. Kendall was cut because he didn't agree with the head coach. Shelton was cut because Big was going to the be LT. Kendall was the only quality player among the whole bunch. Although the line is still playing poorly it's better than the line we had 3 or 4 years ago.

To be honest with you, I don't even think you can lay it on coaches...it's happened with all the different coaches. So, to me, it's just players that don't put forth the effort 'cause they are just waiting their time till they can get outta here (and on to greener pastures).

Whatever.

He was the starting RT here to begin training camp and blew chunks. Absolutely no one wept when he was cut.

He had a really good game in his first start two years ago for the Cards. He's very inconsistent. He'll clobber someone on one play and whiff on the next. You'll see.

Kendell is disputable.

Jeremy Bridges? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! He has one good game and he is now an all pro? This guys is NOT very good, and he will prove it. Let's see what happens when he is not playing the frickin' Browns. Orpheus Roye, and Aaron Kinley are not exactly tearing it up in the league.

ANTHONY CLEMENT? Worse offensive linemen I have ever seen. Yes, worse than Step.

LJ Shelton. Very incosistant, and seems to not have the heart to play when the chips are down. It doesn't look like he is doing much for the Dolphins.

Sorry, just because one of our players go to a better all around team doesn't make him better.

Time after time I read threads about how good some ex-Cardinal is doing somewhere. Yet, in the end these players show their true colors, and usually show why they were let go by this organzation.

Yep, You are 100% correct. You should feel confident about him at Tackle, especially with the Ravens coming into town. I mean the Cleveland Browns, and the Baltimore Ravens, what is the difference.

We need an INDOOR PRACTICE facility in the worst way. I've been saying this for a lot of years now. Those big dudes on the o-line just can't practice like they should outside in this heat. Even in 90 degree heat here in the desert in October it's still too freaking hot to really practice well and concentrate. Over the years I've heard this from a couple players "off ther record".

I think you're onto something. It's no wonder we seem to play better in Nov/Dec.

As for Shelton, Bridges, etc.... I remember back in 2004 when we had Emmitt on the team in Denny's first year, in the middle of a game, Denny replaced the RG and RT with Bridges & Shelton, and all of a sudden Emmitt & Shipp had room to run. Emmitt had 900+ yards behind those two guys that year, so discounting either one of them in run blocking doesn't seem right to me.

Whatever the reason, he wasn't getting it done here.

All I know is that he was playing so badly that I was ecstatic when we cut him - if for no other reason than it removed our temptation to play him.

Was it Jeramy? The coaches? His linemates? (There's plenty of time at the end of the season to figure out "why.")

I was listening to Mike Golic discussing the OL woes of the Cardinals. It's not a matter of talent, but we are running schemes that are WELL behind the times. I'm not surprised to see guys we cut do well elsewhere. If we don't re-sign Davis, he will immediately become a Pro Bowler. I've been a large supporter of DG, but if he's not willing to change our whole approach to the OL, then he may just have to go. I'd rather see DG go then see Davis leave us. I GUARANTEE that if we lose him, he will become a fixture at the Pro Bowl, playing the GUARD position.

i don't buy that at all.We run a very similar system to the Colts we just don't block it as well. Besides schemes come and go in the NFL. Look at the defense with 4-3 or 3-4 alignments. A few years ago there was only about 1-2 teams ran the 3-4 now it's coming back.Back about 10-15 years ago the 3-4 was the main thing then the 46 then back to the 4-3. It's all about execution. If a play is blocked correctly it doesn't matter what scheme you have,it will be a successful play.

I dont buy the whole scheme thing any longer either. I really think it may be as simple as our OL being the fattest OL in the league. We need more athletic ability to mix with the size. There is a fine line between being fat and slow and being big and athletic.

Actually without Step in the starting lineup anymore I think we are now the 2nd to biggest OL in the league now.

I think Next year we need to have Wells get back down to below 310, Ask Milford Brown to get down to 320, Lutui under 330. If Ross is still here at about 320 or under. If Big is still here try and get him below 360. I think if the starting OL next year is 40 or more lbs lighter then they are now next year, they would be much better off. Hypothectilly speaking if we still have the same or most of the same OL parts next year.
