Tonight is the premier of Jericho, with Skeet Ulrich...anyone watching?
I am hoping it turns out good, interesting premise from what I can gather.

To be fair, there are a few strong points: The photography is rich, thanks in part to digital enhancements. And, the acting is strong -- the actors are nothing if not earnest.
Nevertheless, expect the world to last a lot longer than this series.
I've seen the pilot and that's pretty much my assessment of the show as well. That said, I didn't get a very clear idea of where it was going so I will watch at least the first 4 or 5 episodes.CardFan67 said:They said the story line and the idea was great but that the show stunk...
Chandler Mike said:It was okay, pretty cheesy and not written well at all.
But I'm sort of hooked on knowing what happens...
That voice message from that kid's mom was a pretty cool surprise...not from Denver, but Atlanta.

I couldnt find a thread on it so I will ask it here.
Did that Invasion show have an actual real ending to it. Or was it a cliff hanger.
The reason I ask is that I watched the first few episodes then stopped to watch other shows and said to myself that I would just rent the DVD set. Well the DVD set is out now but I dont want to get it if the show left with no ending to it. thanks for the help.
I think I am going to wait and do the same with this show as well.

It's been pretty interesting thus far, and somewhat realistic . . . it conveys a pretty good sense of isolation in a world without TV, radio, electricity, etc.
Actually this is reminding me a bit of Lost, brining up a bunch of weird questions like:
Why wasn't there any radioactivity in the rainfall?
Why wasn't there any apparent fall out at all?
Why was there no notification of the pending nuclear strikes on TV/Radios at least a couple of hours ahead (yes our satellite tracking would have picked them up almost 2 hours before touchdown)
Where are the people outside of the town, i.e. the people from the airplanes and from the train?
Who is the guy who seems to know way too much about all this and is now burying something in his basement?

Maybe it was too far away? New guy wanted to get the town folk in hiding so he could get that container of whatever.

They were likely delivered personally rather than "airmailed". Hence the new guy in town with the container.

Survivors are sure to hit town very soon to give everybody a scare which will end up in them being good too with a bad guy in their midst.

Home grown terrorist.
1) I've read books stating that newer-technology hydrogen bombs are far cleaner than the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombs and produce less fallout (fusion reaction as opposed to fission) in comparison. They could have been airbursts, as well . . . but that negates another of your questions. Also - neutron bombs, perhaps? It's 430 miles from Jericho to Denver . . . they're far closer to Kansas City (unless the show is using fictional geography) but the prevailing winds that would bring Denver fallout to them would push KC away.
2) See 1.
3) Only think I can think of is that they weren't ICBM launched, but hand-delivered . . . how big is a nuke . . . say around the size of a 55-gallon drum?
4) Dunno . . . I wondered the same thing.
5) I hope he's a good guy . . . what did he bury in his basement, and what was he doing with M-4's in his storage shed?
I hope this show sticks . . . so far the ratings have been pretty good from what I read on IMDB.
I was waiting for someone to post a link to the other thread.
I didn't want to be THAT guy.
1-2) A nuetron bomb actually is a high yeild radiation bomb, it is actually designed as a secondary effect weapon to demorilize/permanantly destabalize an environment. From Wikepedia: a neutron bomb is a nuclear weapon that yields a relatively small explosion but a relatively large amount of prompt radiation, Hydrogen I guess is a posibitilty and I could see a lower amount of radioactivity, but when the guy came out of the fallout shelter with the geiger counter there was no radioactivity at all from what the geiger counter was detecting, and I can't see a 0 rate no matter what type of bomb since the premises is that a whole ton of bombs went off not just 1 or 2.
3) I also wouldn't have a problem with the "hand delivered" concept if you were talking just 1, 2 or maybe 3 bombs, but do you honestly believe someone could bring in/build 40+ bombs and hand deliver them all to different spots around the united states without anyone become wise? bout the only way that would be possible is with the "dirty bomb" theroy (i.e. make it in a basement with materials that can be gleaned fairly easily) and have a bunch of suicide builders. Problem with that concept then becomes since they are dirty bombs they are not hydrogen bombs, thus brining us back to 1 & 2 which is there should have been major fallout from them, bringing the radiation count up.
Thus far there's no indication that there's been anywhere close to 40 bombs . . . there have only been around 9-10 cities shown IIRC.
For that matter they might not even be nukes at all. Who knows . . . maybe they'll come up with some high-tech non-radioactive deus ex machina . . .
