After the debacle in Denver we as an organization realize that our mistake was having no one to get to Peyton Manning. We believe this player will be the best pass rusher to come out this draft and yes that includes clowney aka the second coming of Albert haynesworth. The Patriots select Kony Ealy DE Mizzou

Ludicrous. Kony Ealy isn't good enough to wash Clowney's jock strap. :)

I m agree with u.
Clowney is in another dimension compared to ealy who i think is best suited to play de in 3-4 defense
My top 5 olb/de from what i saw on tape
1-clowney
2-mack
3-barr
4-marcus smith i think this kid is ready to start immediatly,he is quick, has good speed and use well his hands.he is solid all around,no weakness
5-dee ford as a pass rusher is great maybe just behind clowney but he is invsible in run game

I know this thread hasn't started yet but clowney will be the biggest bust he has zero work ethic at times can look invisible. ..he's a player who might have 8 sacks in a season and still be considered to really not play well because on the whole he doesn't do as much as he could do.

So you are saying that he might have one of those seasons where his play comes in spurts like Dockett lol

Well with those crazy Bengals taking Mettenberger and the run on QB's that many said wouldn't happen the Browns are going to have to reach for a QB. Do they take the fast rising Tom Savage or the once hot darling Goroppolo?

Of course a RB and WR could be used as well but both still have a bunch of talent that can be grabbed later.

Ray Farmer would have had this pick in awhile ago but the crazy owner wouldn't let him turn it in until he talked to Kevin Costner to see what he thought.

Pick is Goroppolo.

I have my board reset and I'm ready to go, wow.... 7 QB's and in the first 35 picks, I went with BPA and that was Bridgewater. no way this happens in the real draft, maybe Bridgewater, but not 7 QB's

Hard to believe but I think this class will turn out deeper at QB after one sees the way teams will draft them, maybe not first round but they will be in demand early rounds. My Mettenberger pick for the Bengals is far from outrageous, because if I drafted him in the second round, even that early would suggest my plans for him is the signal caller for the team's future. You know what, there is no way in hell he would be available by the time Cincy would pick again and that makes every sense to pull the trigger at pick 25 :)

Not true; the only questionable comment about Clowney's work ethic from anyone in the know was Spurrier, and Spurrier said his work ethic was "OK". Spurrier doesn't sugar coat things and if he really thought Clowney's work ethic was poor he would have said as much.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/124810/coach-defends-clowneys-work-ethic

You don't get as good as Clowney having no work ethic. I watched most of his college career and the guy is an impact player. Best player in the draft hands down, and it's not even close. He had a down year because he received so much blocking attention that it was ridiculous at times.

The crazy thing about Clowney is that he will probably end up being over 280 when he's filled out and he'll still be a better athlete than 90% of defensive linemen.

I thought the pick made sense. It seems like Cincy is thinking of moving on from Dalton.

Mettenberger would fit nicely in the system Cincy runs.

Wish as a fan I had the knowledge and scouting reports the teams had or a real idea what they thought of players, but that is what makes the draft fun to predict and then I would not have to feel like an idiot when I saw how wrong they made my judgmental skills reflect. What I see in Mettenberger is a big QB who unlike Skelton can throw the ball at least in a general direction of the WR. Cincy is really loaded with talent and I think the situation would be great for him because he would not have to do too much. So many QBs fail because they are just drafted into a horrible situation which is a catch 22 because the horrible situations abound for top prospects because those teams have the best shot at them. I still think David Carr was a good QB that went into a shooting gallery where he had little chance and would have been much different if he went to a team as the Cardinals are now with a guy like Palmer in place :)

Tampa Bay was eyeing Timmy Jernigan but he was snagged by the Raiders. With him gone, the Bucs address their need at WR and select WR Allen Robinson from Penn St. He was the best player on PSU last year and easily the conferences best WR.

The Jags need offensive help in every way. They addressed the QB in round 1 and now they'll address the running game in round 2. They were 31st in the league last year on the ground. That won't be the case this year when the add RB Carlos Hyde, from Ohio State, to the stable.

The Vikings answered their QB need with Bortles in the 1st round. They definitely need a RB behind Peterson with Gerhart gone. They also have a slew of defensive needs. A RB can be found later. OLB and ILB are pressing needs. Vikings select Kyle Van Noy OLB BYU.

Mike Zimmer was hired to build a defense and he has to start somewhere.

Bills go with Jace Amare, TE Texas Tech. They need a receiving threat to help Manuel in the passing game.

Now we go to a interview with Kyle Van Noy, just selected by the Vikings

Kyle, how does it feel being drafted?
Van Noy, "I cannot freaking believe it took so long for a team to select me, I mean like what the hell? I am so !@#$%###$# right now, I mean like !@$$$%%@!!@... I'm gonna kill Rodgers, Stafford and whoever the hell is the name of that guy under center for the @#$%%^#@@ Bears. I'm 1st round @#%$^%$^&&%&% talent. I'm going back into the Green Room and see if Bridgewater is still there so I can hit a QB"

Thank you Kyle :D
