Jets should have signed Leinart.

I used to kind of like the Jets compared to a lot of other AFC teams. But, the hype about Sanchez last year turned me off. Then, the absurd level of hyping they have gotten this year has pissed me off. Especially because that blowhard Ryan brings back for me terrible memories of his dad.

I hope they go 1-15.

This is my stance on the Jets as well. The Jets board I have access to is a cauldron of anger and dismay right now.

DA isn't a very good starting QB but I would seriously take him over a lot of the starting QBs in this league from what I've seen so far.

I loved seeing the Jets get their ass kicked!!! Rex & his players talked alot of smack this offseason & failed to realize the chances are slim of winning a Lombardi if you can't score. Hey, sounds like Cruddy Ball. :D I guess he never learned his lesson from watching his old man coach in Philly or Phoenix.

More like helping him, remember Rex was our DL/Linebackers coach when his daddy was HC. He jokes about learning how to coach at the expense of the Cards; Buddy's feast or famine D was a sight to behold. The Jets have a great D but their offense truly stinks. Matty is probably looking good to a few teams right about now; maybe the Texans can unload him for a draft pick or two.

2009 Mark Sanchez = 2006 Rex Grossman

Really?? What I remember is Rexy just chucking it down field to some fast receivers.

Sanchez, like Leinart, is Mr. Checkdown. Maybe that's all they learned at USC

The comparison is they are both quarterbacks who get unjustified praise for bringing their team deep into the playoffs. Neither of them were the reason for their teams success.

Just to put it into perspective, the Cardinals and the Colts rode all the way to the super bowl on the back of Aaron Francisco's excellent Safety play.

Atleast Grossman played some very good games. Sanchez is much much worse.
Agreed. Rex' problem was that he was too inconsistent. Flashes of brilliance one week followed by pure crap the next.

I see more parallels between Grossman and DA than I do with Sanchez.

I don't know if Sanchez is any good or not but the Ravens played some of the most brutal defense I've seen in the NFL in years.

Reminded me of our boys in 1994. :koolaid:

I hate to be the bearer of reality here, but if you dont think Whiz would trade all three of our QBs for Sanchez you are sorely mistaken.

Can we get that D instead? I'd trade them Nicole Bidwill and a couple 100 acres around UP Stadium for that defense.

LOL they went deep in the playoffs despite Sanchez. They had the number 1 ranked defense in yards, pts allowed, and 4th in turnovers forced. Sanchez stats were worst then Leinart's BY FAR. And we cut Leinart. Don't say the Jets are good because of Sanchez. He is terrible.

I'm with you on all points except the last three words....at THIS point he looks awfully bad this year....time will tell...at least he has the opportunity to show it on the field....some guys didn't or don't get that chance. USC quarterbacks like anywhere else run hot and cold...what is really funny is that many of them that came out of a traditional running school like Michigan turn out pretty good

LOl that is a good point. I think the weather helps them. Meaning if you learn and can throw in cold weather, wind and snow. It helps your NFL future. USC QB's have struggled...Even Carson palmer is a little erratic now.

It's been a long time since Bo Schembechler was their head coach.

Right now in the NFL there are the following:

Michigan WR's
Arrington - Saints
Avant - Eagles
Breaston - Cardinals
Edwards - Jets
Manningham - Giants

Michigan QB's
Brady - Patriots
Collins - Bears
Henne - Dolphins

and

Michigan RB's
Mike Hart - Colts
