further jurecki thoughts:

1. ravens have huge oline (i.e. so do cardinals)
2. lewis almost broke dickerson's record behind this line.

also coached at AZ state...and was head coach at purdue - so in theory he can handle play calling.

Emmitt Thomas seems to be in line to get an interview with Cardinals as DC...

That suggests he's a cracker-jack O-line coach.

But it doesn't necessarily mean he'd be a great OC.

In addition to line play, timing and other aspects of execution, important parts of the job involve installing the right system, game-planning and play-calling.

I think Denny will call the plays in this case what it does is get around a lateral hire and get a guy you need to rework our nonproductive line.

I think that is exactly what he is doing. I think more than likely he will just design the offense and call the plays.

Bingo! Gives Colleto a "promotion" - Green will share OC duties.

then hiring alex gibbs as Oline coach....would only further enhance the situation...

Bill lewis has pumping his friend alex all morning on KDUS..he says Gibbs will take the job with the cardinals if offered as he lives in Phoenix.

You are exactly right on Colletto Jeff. He was fired from ASU and he was fired from Purdue. Bob Davie hired him as OL coach and OC. He's a great OLine coach but he sucked as an OC at Notre Dame. The alums screamed for his head and he ran to the pros. He's a screamer like Mauck from what I remember. He's probably what is needed for the OLine. I will be big time disappointed if he's named Offensive Coordinator.

Purdue graduate says . . .

If we hired Colleto as OC I will swallow my head! Colleto's offense at Purdue consisted of; option left, option right, incomplete pass, punt. When Alstott was there he'd give it to him 50 times a game. He was run out of Purdue on a rail for good reason. Great OL coach but do we need a great OL coach calling plays as OC? This would be a mistake.

He did go from OSU to Purdue. But his roll in playcalling at OSU was geatly diminished when Walt Harris came aboard.

It's not that critical who we name as OC as Green will be running the Offense. What's critical is who we hire as DC!!!!

Yep, he was VERY unpopular in Purdue, they've always been a pass oriented school, if you're going to change that you sure as hell better have more than 1 winning season in 6 years, he didn't and the winning year was just 5-4-1.

He may be a good position coach but he would not be my top choice for OC.

But as Conrad said, if Green is really calling the offense, not much concern. I'd rather just hire Alex Gibbs to coach the OL, hire an up and comer as OC as a protege with Green running the show.

Jurecki is an cornholio!!! I wouldn't believe anything that he says. He is already bad mothing Fassel for lossing out on the Bills job.

For a matter of fact I wish that with the coming of a new coaching staff we could also get ride of our local sports media. i.e. Curtis, Gambo, Jurecki, Zenner (especially him), Bickley. They our a cancer to our Valley and our team. We get a bad rap nationally due to these guy's.

Why is he an cornholio? Why wouldn't you believe anything he says? He is almost always right and for a reason. He does his homework and he has the trust of many, many high ranking reliable sources. Hell, people from all over the country, including agents, keep in touch with him on a regular basis because they know that he is good and they regard him as someone who is in the know.

He is getting on Fassell because he bombed in his interview in Buffalo and he was basically begging to get back in the Cardinals mix. He waited too long. Due to the fact that Gibbs was hired in Washington, the Cardinals gained lots of leverage in negotiations which is something that rarely happens. Fassell messed up, and Jurecki is reporting that fact.

Jurecki is the one of the most fair members of the media. He will tell it like it is. When the Cardinals deserve to be criticized, he will do it. The difference is that he doesn't pile on. He also will commend a good move where most other talk show guys will still find a way to twist it in a negative light.

Yeah...that really makes him an cornholio.

The cancer - and the reason why we get bashed nationally - is that the team has sucked over the years. That has nothing to do with MJ - who I find to be very good.

I would agree about Zenner though - he is annoying

Thank You Stronso!

Wins and losses are truly the bottom line. Until the Cardinals start winning, we will continue to have a core fan base of 17-20,000 fans in attendance.

Don't worry JimmyO - I got yours and MJ's backs

I have always believed that if the Cards could turn it around and become winners CONSISTENTLY - they would OWN this town - forget the DBax, Suns, etc. It would be Cardinal - land.

Well Jim here is a bit of info you have not been prevy to. Jurecki doesn't really tell it like it is. He bad mouthed Jake so much and told everyone on this board that Mark Trestman stated that the reason he lost his job to the Cardinals was because of Jake, and Jurecki agreed Mark.

Also I am from the same part of the country that Jurecki is from W. N.Y. It has been brought to my attention that he has bad mouthed this organization and Players to the sports Media in Western N.Y. If this is true; I am surprised that he would still be the Cards NFL insider.

Last week he was condeming our new coach due to his soposed character problems, yet this week even though he still would of rather had Fassel, he is kissing up to Green to all the fans on 1060am.

Please Jim don't get in the middle of this it is not your place. It is my opinon of Jurecki. I will honor yours so please honor mine.

Wow. This looks like a big contradiction. How can you honor my opinion but at the same time tell me that it is not my place to have an opinion?

All three examples listed above do not seem out of the ordinary for any member of the media. A media member gets a story and reports it. A media member observes something and he reports it.

If a coach tells something to a reporter, why can't he report it?

So it was brought to your attention in Western New York that someone is talking bad about a team that has not had a winning season since 1998? Who cares? What is wrong about giving an honest observation? What do you want him to say? That they were good? Jurecki is not telling secrets in Western New York. The Cardinals had just FOUR WINS. Four is four in any state. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

As far as Green goes, Jurecki has always maintained that if the Cardinals wanted to make a big splash that they should hire Green. It is not what he would have done but he is far from kissing up to anyone. The fact is that Green is the coach and Jurecki is giving credit to the Cardinals for getting the guy they wanted all along.

According to you and your strange logic, it is not my place to comment on this, but I felt compelled to do so.

While I do not agree with everything that Jurecki says, I do give him credit for being very fair to the Cardinals. It is his job to be critical when the need is there, but he also gives praise when it is warranted. That is what separates him from the others.
