Now that it appears that Boozer is heading to Utah, it would seem that the likely destination for K-Mart is Denver. If this were to happen, Nene would suddenly become expendable for the Nuggets.

Up until Q-Rich signed an offer sheet with the Suns, the Nuggets were hot in persuing him along with other FA SG's in order to address their need at that position.

So why not try and work out a deal with Denver by sending JJ for Nene. It would make sense for both parties (assuming Kmart signs with Denver), and the Suns would now have someone they could put in at Center that doesnt cost us anything for the next couple of years. Not to mention Nene would be reunited with fellow Brazilian Leandro Barbosa.

Your thoughts?

No way Denver trades Nene. Just my take, he's too young and is going to be pretty good with Anthony in the years to come.

Yea there's no way nene gets traded for jj. we would have to throw in a lot of things and probably take back a bad contract to get it to work. Actually nene probably wont be traded even if they sign kmart. He would make a helluva 6th man huh?

K-Mart wants to stay in New Jersey and he told that Kiki when he was in Denver.

K-Mart stays or goes to Atlanta more likely I would think.

Even if he goes to Denver they might want to keep Nene, Camby and Martin because they don't have anything else upfront and Camby is injury prone.

It was worth a try...I'm just trying to justify the Q signing to myself. In reality, when the paper-clips dont get Kobe they'll just match our offer.

I wonder how many trades and other signings will happen in the next 20 days that could have involved the Suns and won't because we signed a guy to an offer sheet that will most assuredly be matched?

Actually we had a thread on trading for Nene a while back.

(I think slinslin was the one who put it on) :p

No matter how you cut it, Nene is a power forward. He can play center but he could turn into a very good power forward in a couple years if they leave him there.
The suns do not need a power forward and do not want Nene at center.

I wouldn't trade JJ. Not now, now that we actually have him performing consistantly.

The Q offer is a good one.

He's the best free agent left out there that the SUns can afford. If the Clips match the Suns will be in a good position to trade for a quality player sometime in the next few months.

The notion that the Suns should just sign anybody to use up their cap space is misguided.

I don't think we will trade JJ, Q or Marion. All of them should get 30+ minutes.

And Q will be there to replace JJ or Marion if someone is injured and next year if someone offers JJ insane money.

Gambo said we will look for a cheap center now and try to move Eisley.

SlinSlin, how can listen to Gambo if you live in Germany? Just curious.

Have you ever listened to Gambo?

Take your fingernails...

Sharpen them to a point...

Scratch them on a chalkboard...

Repeat until your ears bleed...

And realize that is still more enjoyable than listening to Gambo.

Just checking -- has Gambo been right about anything yet this summer, other than relaying reports that have already come out somewhere else?

And what part of "Scott Williams can't play anymore" doesn't anyone understand? He's been out of gas for the last three years.

Nene is plenty large -- both taller and heavier than Stoudemire -- and is only 21 years old. I see no reason at all that he couldn't be developed into a center.

He has been right about Nash.

He has been right about going after Turkoglu and Richardson....

He has been right about trading the pick to Chicago..

He has been right about Nash.

Everyone was reporting for weeks that the Suns were going after Nash. Many people on this board (including me) didn't believe it, but I don't think Gambo should get any credit for just repeating the rumors.

He has been right about going after Turkoglu and Richardson....

He has been right about trading the pick to Chicago..

Before everyone else said the same thing?

Didn't Gambo also say that the Suns would get Tmac and Kobe this year? Before any thing else happened. He just spits stuff out all day and if one sticks he looks like he knows something.

Suns could definately make an offer for Nene that the Nuggets would think about...it all comes down to a price and if we're willing to pay it. JJ+Chicago pick might get our foot in the door but it probably will take a little more...maybe adding another decent role player and taking back a little garbage in return might be enough. Anymore and it probably isnt worth doing.

Uhm, he threw the idea around. He said that it was a POSSIBILITY. Never did he say it would happen, but he said that it COULD.

A JJ for Nene trade is more likely now that Manu Ginobli resigned with the spurs.
