Hard Facts of Life

Great for those of you who are gainfully employed and making a decent or better living in this wonderful country. Be careful and hold on to what you've got! The infamous Turk could be coming down the corridor any moment.

Last night I saw a re-run of a 60 Minutes segment updating a story on food lines in south-eastern Ohio. These are people, , lining up by the thousands for up to 5 hours to get free chicken wings and canned soup. Many of these normal (PC for white)Americans still have some sort of a job paying little more than minimum wage without any benefits who need assistance at some point in the month to have enough food to feed themselves and their families. Unfortunately the number in that state, which is not unique across the country, rose by 200,000 individuals since the first report was shown. As I recall, more than 2,000,000 people, just in Ohio are now in need.

I myself was downsized out a good paying computer consulting position 2 years ago. Started a new business in the energy conservation field, so far without success.

Peace

I'm the senior accountant for an international media company's foriegn bureaus (offices).

I'm usually far to busy to acutally spend time in here posting, but I make up for it with extra long hours and weekend work.

The pastie placement job sounds interesting though.

Another public relations person here.

I did, however, just misspell the name of one of our congressmen in a printed publication that many, many people will see. Of course, our government relations people didn't pick it up either, so I am hoping NOT to be the fall girl for this one.

If you see my posts dramatically increase, you'll know I got canned.

Me? I'm a PR manager.

I am independantly wealthy and hang around on my yacht or fly up to Cape Cod for dinner on my Leer jet. Before all this I was a Colonel in the Air Force and flew my jet where they told me to.

Hey buddy I subscribed many years to jeppsen flight maps when I was flying regular routes around the U.S. and the world. Just keeping your updates in order was a full time job but your maps sure beat our military issue at the time.

I thought it was weird that we had a Congressman Iamabigfatliar. That's one heck of a typo.

I take care of the stock room for our line crew and the installation and maintenance crew. They provide me with a computer to do my ordering so I can check here almost all day long. Pretty soon I'll catch up the Krang and Section 11. If I can get them on the cover of Madden I'll pass them for sure.

I'm a Test Engineer. When someone comes up with a new design I find a way to make sure it does everything its supposed to do.
This board is the best indication I have that lay-offs are imminent. When I have time during the day to post, then lay-offs are coming.

Although this latest job is close to home, so I get to come home for lunch and catch up.

I am a mortgage banker here in Phoenix. I started with our company in NYC and transferred out here 3 months ago.

BUT, we may be moving back to NYC in the very near future. My girlfriend is flying there in early September to interview for a number of upper management positions. If she gets a job there for some good coin we are moving back. Then I will be Mr. Mom.
Bad timing too as we will probably start potty training on my watch. Balls.
