I don't know if anyone else heard, but Bryan Colangelo was on ESPN Gamenight saying he's hearing Joe is already unhappy in Atlanta. That puts the article in the republic in perspective. He realizes what a garbage team he is on, and is now saying it's not his fault he ended up there. All I gotta say is how stupid a human being is Joe Johnson? Everyone with half a brain saw this coming the second we heard that he wanted to be a hawk, he would get his numbers and be the man on a terrible team.

Of course the ironic thing is how beautiful it has worked out for the suns (covered in other posts) in retrospect.

I expect that's some spin on Colangelo's part. Why would he be hearing such things unless Johnson is saying them publicly, which he isn't?

He said that there were rumblings that Joe was already unhappy. He didn't directly come out and say it. I heard that interview though on ESPN. Pretty good stuff, although most of it we already know.

I read a quote by Joe recently along the lines that he was glad to be playing SG because he preferred playing against bigger (and presumeably, slower) players...

Which follows up his quotes saying how he liked the idea of playing PG because it allowed him to create more.

I think that the brainwashing power of a good agent cannot be overestimated, especially when seclusion is used. And make no mistake about it Tellem is one of the best. It was almost as if Joe was kidnapped by the moonies. I also dont doubt that Tellem worked on setting Joe against suns management. Yes, he probably made it up-close and personal for Joe to increase his resistence. The 20 mil first year upfront deal probably gave tellem the biggest payday possible. Young professional basketball players, are probably, as a group easy to manipulate, because they have a very narrow life experience. Look what slick talking lawyers do to juries. Enough said.

Who is happy playing for Hawks?? lol

JJ can have his numbers but if Hawks can't win, everybody is going to point fingers at JJ.

That was the most notable statement that BC made during the interview was that he was convinced that the information that JJ's agent was pumping him was biased because it favored the agent. He clearly stated that he was sure he convinced Sarver that the best move was to match any offer. It was Sarver who did convince BC that it was not a good idea to match an offer after JJ and his agent requested him not to. He did not want a max contract given to a guy that was not committed to the team. BC admitted that the economics did not make sense and later manuevers were going to have to be made but he was aware he would have to face those hurdles down the road.
