Not that I expect too much out of Porter, but I will take him at a reduced price.

BTW: Urban confirmed Porter restructured his deal to stay with the team.

In a year where everything is shortened, a guy that knows the system will help a bunch at the beginning of the year.

Hopefully Porter's reduced price, comes with a reduced roll. I don't want to see the guy out there every snap. I feel he is a less is more type player at this stage.

Use him like they did B-Train at the end of his career, IMO.

I felt last year he would help us alot. I was wrong. His willingness to take a pay cut speaks volumes to me. I hope he gets back on track this year.

With his paycut and the release of Hayes/Anderson, we have to be absolutely drowning in cap room. Can't imagine why they won't take a few more big shots in free agency.

I'm with you 100% on this especially keeping veteran players around this year. Would have liked to have kept Alan Branch also but it won't kill us to lose him.

Speaking of veterans anyone know anything about Gabe Watson's status as far as staying with the team?

I seriously doubt he had any choice. Not sure who would sign him at this point in his career.

Me, too. I was hoping for big things from Porter. Now I am hoping he bounces back and has a good year. Glad he decided to restructure.

Zero chance. Why?

1) Denny draft pick. Him going elsewhere would finish the pogrom.

2) He was inactive pretty much all season. Why would the Cards want to keep him?

3) He was inactive pretty much all season. Why would he want to come back here after the Cards prevented him from showcasing his skills in a contract year?

Why? Because I hadn't heard anything. DUH.

I think Porter can still be productive in our system, but we've now got Porter, Haggans, Schofield, Davis, and Acho. I don't think we keep more the 5 OLBs on the final roster, and I don't see the staff giving up on Schofield, Davis, or Acho. This might be the final group, and I don't think they are enough as you need in a 3-4.

When Porter accepted a pay cut, it took us out of the Manny Lawson sweepstakes in my opinion. Just looking at the current OLB's I don't see who they would get rid of. I think they want to give Schofield and Acho a chance. I'm ok with that as long as they reallocate the funds intended for a pass rusher to corner or o-line.
