welcome back Rod Graves
Pittsburgh State, Kansas Gorillas-----a very good small school program with at least one national championship to their credit in football. Brown is a three time team captain who loves to go up the middle, and with his 4.3 forty speed, he is not caught once he breaches the defense. He is the speed guy that Arians has coveted. Unlike Gin, he is young, and should be on this roster for several years.
They must have really really really liked this guy... I mean really liked him
.Darren Urban @Cardschatter
Arians said Patrick Peterson's punt returns are going to be limited going forward. "And his days as a receiver might be coming to an end."
Won a D2 championship with them. I was just watching and he absolutely BURNS up the field. Very fast...didn't see much in the route running on what I've watched, seems to just blow by...seems to be a sick slot guy.
Can you imagine a 4WR set with Fitz and Floyd on the edges, and Ginn and this cat burning down the seams? I know Bruce can. Could have been 5th or 6th round though. But..if he produces I don't care.
WTF? Reach of the draft!

Cards brought this guy in for a visit. Guess they liked what they saw.

Will be a kick-off return guy and someone to play in the slot---until he gets killed by the sharks manning the NFL backfield.

I think we all know why we got this guy.

Now that you put it that way,
See, this is why I like this pick more than the others we made. It's certainly not just checking off an obvious need. It's outside the box, a potentially dynamic speed WR and KR. We need to put some fear in the secondaries we face so we can back them the hell up and run the ball better. Brown and Ginn could provide that.
How many times has Ty Hilton gotten killed by these NFL sharks?
I seem to remember him embarrassing Sherman pretty good.
Good info.Just to add - Ty Hilton drafted 92nd from a smaller school. Brown drafted 91 from a smaller school. Lol.
Wow, rarely do we get Mitch at night!Great post! Thank you! I've been writing about John Brown for a number of weeks now and the comparison to T.Y. Hilton is legit.
NFL.com listed him as a 6-7 round prospect. Oh well, he's a third round pick now and was essentially a free pick.
Hmmmm, the last time I went through these kind of emotions the pick was Ellington.
Went something like this, with about 5 minutes in between each period:
Who? Why? We just got a [position] like that. Hmm. Intriguing. Wow, that's interesting. Maybe not such a reach. Love the speed.
Now let's see if it continues because the next time I saw Ellington was at camp and I was in love.
