I'm not shocked. He and Whisenhunt are tight. I'll be more shocked if he and Whiz aren't together on the sidelines next year.

For the record, BA isn't against stretching---he just feels the players should do it on their own before practice, so that they can hit the ground running at the first whistle.

this is a terrible mindset. stretching is key for these players. not sure why a coach would have this mindset with his players and risk injury. i dont think a coach should "trust" his players to stretch on their own time. if they skip it or half ass it, the risk for a pulled hammy or groin is much greater.

hope this isn't the case.

BA is big on the players taking ownership and likes to treat them like grown men. There is wisdom in that, I think. Every quality athlete I know stretches out before he or she goes full tilt. It doesn't seem like too much to ask and if it is maybe you don't want players like that on your team.

Fully agree plus with the new CBA they are allowed only so much practice time and BA doesn't want a second wasted on players stretching. Do it before practice starts and we get our full amount of practice time for what really matters.

Excellent point about the CBA, Cardiac.

Call me crazy for spending the time necessary to stretch rather than having the players do it on their own. Probably why Fitz got hurt.

I wonder why all the teams that do use practice time for stretching had injuries

The dude is the first dude in like 40 years to win 10 regular season games and that was in his first year in the hardest division in football.

I have to think that he has an idea about what he's doing.

I like the idea of treating players like men. When I got to work they don't let me spend the first 30 minutes of my day dressing myself and brushing my teeth and combing my hair when I sit down at my desk I start working... or at least it looks like it :)

The Cards won 10 regular season games in 2009. So its only been 4 years not 40. Most wins for a first year Cards coach since 1925 though.

Also, Don Coryell won 10 games, 11 games and 10 games in consecutive years.

Something else I did not know, since moving to AZ, we only had a positive point differential 5 times; Whiz (3), Bugle (1) and Arians (1). Bugles one season was best at 57 points and Arians was second with 55 points. Whiz was 50, 5 and 1. Man, we stunk!!

McGinnis is responsible for the worst two season ever in Cardinals history, -233 and -227.

That was the 40 years ago he was referencing. Hard to believe its been 40 years since the days of Coryell's Cardiac Cards.

EDIT: 1999 to 2001 were horrible years for Cards fans. From Dec. 5th 1999 to Nov. 11, 2001 the Cards went 4-22 and were outscored 771-381!!!

Hard to believe that was almost 40 years ago. I was born in 78 and did now put 2 and 2 together. Man I feel old.

A quick calculation of those numbers (did not bother to double check the depressing math) came out to a -2199 point differential since the move to AZ.

Ouch.

If we could replicate last season over and over again it would take 40 straight seasons of +55 margins to get our differential back to 0.

Double ouch.

Even more ridiculous is that if the Cards won 11 games every year it would take 18.5 seasons for them to get to .500 all time. Of course that's what happens when you have 20 losing seasons in 22 years.

But its not all the Arizona Cardinals fault or all Dollar Bill either. The Cards were 34-108 from 1932-1945. Talk about a Depression.
