I am telling you guys, he has lost the team. There are a lot of guys that dislike Whisenhunt and they are not QBs, guys you wouldn't suspect. I would be shocked if Whisenhunt has a job by this evening. Hopefully they are negotiating the buy out.

Well, Dang, John. If you had been able to hit the broad side of a barn when you needed to this wouldn't be a problem now would it?

There's some pretty damning quotes in there by Skelton. By a guy whose career could easily be damaged by calling out his HC like that. By a guy who is clearly sick of the crap from this coaching staff. And he's not the first. I have a feeling that atmosphere is a lot more toxic than it appears and if Whisenhunt is fired we will hear a lot more of these stories.

Has one player come out in support of Whisenhunt? Just one. Devin Hester is mulling retirement after hearing about Lovie. Is there 1 player in AZ that feels the same way? We all know the answer. That should tell you all you need to know.

I typically try not to comment on cardinals stories - but why is this guy even talking?

He should be ecstatic that anyone gave him a shot and named him an opening day starter - he had some game winning drives last year, but so did tebow .... neither is fit to be a starting QB

Last year he was a 55% completion guy - he's the same guy this year (54%) .... he has taken fewer sacks and improved his Int percentage over last year ..... just now teams realize how to take him out of the game and let him beat himself because he's innacurate and makes bad decisions - he also hasn't had fitz killing himself grabbing everything within 3 lengths of him this year

The whole way he's talked since last year definitely doesn't line up to a quality NFL player .... like when he complained on the radio that he barely had time to celebrate winning the job - no one has time for that, you immediately start working on keeping it

for a bad QB he definitely talks like he's entitled to a lot more - when in reality he should be fortunate to be on a roster, let alone start 13 games over 2 years

This.

50% completion tends to get QBs benched.

Skelton should keep his mouth shut and focus on updating his résumé.

Has one player come out in support of Skelton? remember all the talk about how the guys loved Skelton and didn't believe in Kolb during training camp?

So how come when Skelton got yanked those guys didn't all speak up and complain?

When you are a 5th rounder out of Fordham, you only get so many chances to be a starter in the NFL and Skelton dropped the ball. We will probably never really know, but I would guess he just never understood or put in the work to be a starter in the NFL. He never seemed like he understood the offense or developed in his ability to work through his throwing progressions. I imagine while he may be mad at Whis, Whis is probably equally as pissed at him. Whis once again backed the cheaper alternative at QB and this time had that QB fall on his face rather than rising to the occassion.

Someone tell Skelton that opportunities for redemption are rare in the NFL, especially for those who have not had an extensive history of success. IMO, the one Skleton should be pissed at is himself as he had a golden opportunity and dropped the ball.

Really? I'm no Skelton defender any more--you just can't go back to him after the abysmal season he had--but you wouldn't call into question or idiotic position coach changes? How is any QB supposed to develop with an offensive coaching staff like we had this season?

If Skelton thinks any other coach in the league would have given him this much of a shot he is crazy. I was in favor of giving him a shot this season, but he was totally awful. The most inaccurate QB we have ever had (including Derek Anderson). Don't know what Skelton is hoping to acheive, I can't imagine the new coach wanting to keep him moving forward.

I might as well have posted this. It's exactly my thinking

Of course there are others you can shift the blame towards but in the end, starting opportunities at QB in the NFL come rarely. It is up to the QB to make the most out of it DESPITE other issues that may arrise. Skelton showed none of that and instead became MORE inconsistent and LESS productive the more opportunity and support he got. Not a great sign.

Wow it's amazing how much out of the woodwork comments we've gotten in the past month or so.

Wells, DD, Adub, and now Skelton? Weird thing with Todd Heap injured/cut action. Lots of weird things and it seems like more and more he indeed lost the team, but the team played hard maybe not for him, but out of pride for themselves.

Either way I've never seen this much yapping from players on any of our teams, and we've had many where the coach is about to get fired. Sometimes one or two comments, but we've now had at least four, and I might have forgotten one or two by now lol.

Yeah and don't forget about great Cardinals in the past like Q who had issues with Whisenhunt.

In short, he had a rare 2nd chance and he blew it.

Cause when you speak out to Whiz even if you are right you get benched, or cut. Then he will make up excuses of why he cut you even after you just signed a 4 year deal and drag your name through the mud to the media for no reason with a bunch of lies. #NateHodel
