Auburn star Johni Broome exited Auburn's March Madness game against Michigan State due to injury.

With 10:38 remaining in the second half of the Tigers game with Michigan State, the star forward went in to block the shot from Michigan State's Frankie Fidler. When he fell to the floor, he appeared to hyperextend his right elbow, which caused him to sit until medical assistance could be provided. He was taken into the locker room to be further examined.

At the time of his injury, Broome scored 22 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. He connected on 75% of his shots (9-of-12) from the field, and was perfect from the free throw line (3-for-3) and from three-point land (1-for-1). Earlier in the game, Broome became the fourth player in NCAA history to score 2,500 points and secure 1,500 rebounds over his career.

Broome exited the locker room and re-entered the game with 5:29 remaining in the game. Before his return, CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson reported that Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl asked Broome if he were ok, to which Broome replied "no." Minutes later, he returned to the floor to connect on a three-point shot to put the Tigers ahead, 60-48.
