Does anyone know this deal with him? Was it ever even reported what his “injury” was? The guy didn’t work out last season and we paid the price all year and looks like it’s the same thing all over again. Such a monumental disappointment.

It's a hamstring problem, I believe.

And anyone who has suffered this knows that it's not a pain tolerance issue; your leg simply doesn't work properly.

Last report said week to week. Very vague, but for a guy of his size it could only imagine the pressure on his hamstrings and calves.

I believe he has some kind of heart problem.
The Mayo clinic has discovered the condition that he has and has called it THS (Tiny Heart Syndrome).

What a bust of a free agent signing. He was a risky signing to begin and it will be nice to at least get some cap relief when he's cut.

I thought it was Lazy Ass syndrome?

He's one of these guys that doesn't like to work out in the offseason isn't he? Turns up to camp 10lbs overweight and gasping for breath.

One year wonders with unsustainable sack % numbers are always the best FA targets!

Said the agents for Hasaan Reddick 9 months ago.
Ha, completely different situations. Reddick was very effective in a role he had been effective at in the past. On top of that, Reddick's underlying numbers in terms of pressures/hurries etc were supportive of his performance. Phillips had some ridiculous ratio of pressures to sacks which was clearly unsustainable.
Hard to complain with Thai roster as constructed honestly. At this point Keim deserves lots of praise.
Our roster is clearly good this year, but that doesn't make every decision on the D line the correct one. Watt has been an incredible addition, but paying guys like Kennard/Phillips has made it tougher to fortify the position.

is this reported fact, or speculation?

It was one of his issues at the Dolphins. Even after he lost the starting job he was told they wanted him down to 320 from 336 to try increase his stamina. He turned up at 335, said he'd lose it during camp.

He's always had passion/heart/work rate issues. It's why Miami let him go. And you have to ask why after a year and 10 sacks the Bills didn't attempt to resign him. You don't normally let 10 sack interior guys walk.

The Bills had a first-round pick to fill his role and other FA needs.

With Chandler hurting, being able to generate pressure from the D-Line has heightened importance in the short-term. Hopefully Gardeck is ready to ramp it up.
