Meh. This is the time of the year the 'pundits' jockey for position on the "I told you so!" ladder. Calling someone a bust before they've even thrown an NFL pass is asinine, imo. Allen, or any of these QBs, may turn out as busts, but to call them that now is... asinine.

Allen won't drop out of top 5 picks. Too much talent and coaches think they can correct any flaws that he has.

You can't fix stupid.

Don't know how Allen is in terms of processing/awareness/mental strength. He takes this *^% seriously, though.

Scathing review by Dan Orlovsky featured in MMQB today. I heard a similar review from someone who was training with him. Said he was a physical freak when it came to arm strength but questioned his processing ability. Would not shock me to see this kid slide and slide far.

I don't know about Josh Allen, but I do know Orlovsky played a role in 0-16.

normally I would say that picking any QB to be a bust prior to the draft is just picking low hanging fruit,,,
but Orlovsky has first hand experience with the situation

Being honest he has more bust potential then Lamar, but the guy is flying draft board since the college season was over

They are pretty similar in terms of both having a huge issue which is tough for players to overcome.

Josh Allen is going to be terrible in the NFL. Write it down. Hell, get a tattoo. I am that confident Allen busts. Other than a strong arm, he has absolutely nothing else IMO.

I'm confused, in one thread you say he has the most upside and here you say he has a low success rate.
Yes, if Josh Allen can improve his accuracy issues, he has the most upside of any QB in this draft. However, history says that accuracy is one of the most difficult issues for a QB to fix which is why I think he is most likely of the 4 to bust out. They aren't mutually exclusive statements.

Lamar Jackson will bust out of the league before Allen.

Josh Allen’s career stats = 56.2 completion %, 7.8 ypa, 44 TD 21 INTs 137.7 rating

Ryan Lindley’s career stats = 55.5 completion % 7.3 ypa, 90 TDs 47 INTs, 128.8 rating

Both MWC QBs going against mid-tier talent. Both big-armed QBs with accuracy concerns.

Josh Allen was barely better than Lindley in college.

I honestly cannot see how Allen has Top-5 value, and I would argue that he’s not a first-round prospect.

Buyer beware.

Absolutely agree with this view.

My unscientific eye tells me that as coaches work with players to adjust a lifetime of muscle-memory, along with overloading them with a byzantine playbook, and the psychological effect of NFL defensive monsters headhunting for paydays and ESPN highlight reels, makes their accuracy get worse, not better.

As you said, IF he can fix it.... I'm glad my career doesn't depend on it.

I would love for Allen to be the Cards new QB. My order of preference is Rosen, Darnold, Allen.

CBUS- give a honest opinion on Jamarco Jones...can he really play Left tackle in the NFL? I have noticed that he has been kind of under the radar behind McGlinchey,Connor Williams, Orlando Brown etc;.......

Question, how many pro football players at different positions might be able to throw like Allen in a pro day/combine environment. Alright, granted Allen can do better but I bet the drop off would not be huge compared to some athletes who have played football their whole life and sure know how to throw a pigskin even if they are a TE but it would amazingly large if that said player from a different position had to actually play QB in game, and Allen looks mediocre in a an actual game. Hell. Patrick Peterson won some of those 'combine' type throws against Palmer and Stanton and their friendly challenges from week to week. I do not give a damn how pretty Allen looked in his freaking shorts playing pass and catch, he was really uninspiring on tape compared to Jackson or even Rudolph

QBs who complete under 60% of their passes in college have a low success rate. I would avoid Josh Allen.

I can't help but laugh when I regularly read this sort of statement. ALL QBs coming out of college have a low success rate, even those taken in top 10 through the first round.

Similar statements are:
All short qbs have a low success rate.
All qbs who have a history of concussions have a low success rate.
All qbs who come out of USC have a low success rate.
All qbs who pick their nose have a low success rate.
or my favorite - All QBs have a low success rate.

Throw me some examples of college QBs with <60% completion that became accurate passers in the NFL.

The only thing similar are the words 'low success rate' in your listings... I think you need to read up on logic and its application :)
