Just might be a 1st rounder (even a high 1st rounder). Laugh if you must, ... but he's got the goods.

6'5" 225# great arm and a gunslinger. He can spin it . One man show at Wyoming.

I still say Deshaun Watson is the safest & probably the best QB in this draft! He might be there at #13  Now would Bask pull the trigger? Hmmm...I bet they would.

I like Watson... but his deep ball kinda sucks from what I have seen.....or maybe his wideouts are just too slow?

He is a toolsy project. The big issue for him is his lack of snaps. Even with Wentz's questions regarding the talent he faced had multiple years under his belt. Allen has limited experience as well as the transition. He could be a 1st rounder, he has the physical traits for it, but he is a huge risk.

I don't care for Watson, I see him as more of a RGIII than anything else. Fits well in the Clemson system but not an NFL system especially Arians.

Watson would be good for a team like the Bills...that like to run the read-option and rely on the running game. He's a better pocket passer than RG3, but definitely gets happy feet when he feels the pressure. Still, he's faced some tough teams and played well in those games, so he's got some upside.

Watch this and tell me you'd still trade up for him. Big, and super athletic, but stares down receivers constantly.

I'm still digging Palmer for the next two years... I will take your word for it and say you win lol

Wow...I really like that kid. He reminds me of a cross between Philip Rivers and Jake Plummer with a rocket arm. He does have some accuracy issues but that kid is a gamer.

Has he officially declared?

I like Kizer and would be on board for trading up to select him :)
The guy who was in a battle with and not the clear cut winner with Malik Zaire. Brian Kelly is not a QB whisperer. Kizer, great athlete trying to play QB. 4th round risk.

I still like Kizer more than Watson. Now granted, I still think both guys are projects and athletes before quarterbacks. Both of them for the most part are one read guys but what I like about Kizer is that his throwing motion is effortless and he is accurate when he settles down in a game... Watson has one of the ugliest throwing motions I ever seen, but it does not have to be pretty if it gets there I guess lol

The names John Skelton and Ryan Lindley quickly come to mind when thinking about Allen. In any other QB draft class, Allen is a 5th-7th round pick.

Pass.

Zoiks! Those aren't good names for a QB to invoke. Everyone knows I'm crazy to get a QBOF. I didn't know anything about this guy, but from what I'm reading (the above QB comparison aside), I'd pass on this guy early.

He's really not that bad...he's much better than Logan Thomas was/is. He's a big guy with great athleticism, moves around in the pocket well, has a rocket arm, and here and there shows some nice touch. His main issue is inconsistency...his foot work gets a little sloppy and he'll miss some throws, but certainly worth taking a look at in the 3rd or 4th...if he makes it that far. Teams will fall in love with his measurables.

Skelton had great measurables coming out of Fordham, and also a ton of other QB flops. Poor footwork, accuracy concerns at the MWC level, and inconsistency are enough to pass on Allen.

You have to take chances with QB's in the draft but I don't think that applies to Round 1. You better be very sure a 1st rd QB is it or you can really damage your franchise long term.

I think you have two types of QB's...sure fire #1 picks like Palmer, Luck, Ryan, Newton, Stafford, Manning x2, Rivers, etc and then you have guys that are overrated #1 picks (too many busts to mention) or guys with warts in the middle/late rounds (Brady, Russel Wilson, Cousins, etc).

Hell, just about every team passed on Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr. Picking QB's is not an exact science by any means. You have to take chances and you will fail more than you succeed. Just don't take those chances with a high first rd pick.

Skelton did not. Beg to differ. No one wanted him until Cards in the 5th.

BTW he is on the Montreal Alouettes roster now.

He's 6'5" 245 lbs with a big arm and mobility. His scouting report was top notch save for the fact that the biggest opponent he played was Old Dominion. Of course, it never translated on the field, but he 100% had the physical tools many coaches covet in a QB.
