So...what's the deal? He's on the verge of signing 4 days or so ago, and then it's if he's fallen off the edge of the planet. No news. Not even a rumor.

You'd think some reporter worth his/her salt would at least pick up the phone or Twitter thingy, contact Cribbs or his agent and ask what happened. Even if the attempt at contact turned out to be unsuccessful, there could at least be an "attempts to reach Mr. Cribbs or his agent were unsuccessful" report published somewhere.

But nothing.

If I were a screenwriter, I'd be tempted to turn the "Missing Cribbs Mystery" into a full-length feature. (starring Dustin Hoffman as the aging beat writer determined to find out the truth, his cynical alcoholic editor played by Tommie Lee Jones and his rival - but sometime allied - reporter from ESPN played by Jodi Foster and Cribbs played by Tavon Austin).

Once New England signed Leon Washington, he lost his leverage. You have to wonder if he wanted New England all along and was just using Arizona to drive up his price. If he was, it backfired big time.

Yeah, maybe he is waiting to see if he gets interest from some other teams.

If you were a screenwriter, the studio would tell u they're casting Ryan Gosling as the young up and coming blogger, Mathew Mconagehy as his recovering alcoholic webmaster, Rachel McAdams as his rival blogger and Jaden Smith would play Cribbs... Who's not only missing... But secretly an alien!

Of all the Cardinals free agent signings- signing WR Josh Cribbs would make as much sense as any. Cribbs immediately fills the #4 WR, KR, PR and "Pistol" QB roles.

The Cardinals and Josh Cribbs both need each other, lets hope this deal gets done ASAP.

Go Cardinals!

#browns Cribbs is visiting the #cardinals and taking a physical.

This is from tonight. Looks like Cribbs will sign tomorrow. Sorry, Shane and Bucky.

Hopefully they will utilize him as PR for PP21 because the last thing we need is for him to get injured returning punts.

I'd prefer Christopher Walken as his agent. And don't forget to put googlie eyes on all of your plants!

Josh Cribbs is a good sign IMO, especially at the bargain price he's coming in at. Guy gives 100% and can be the special teams spark plug we need. No, he doesn't spell championship, just another added piece to improve a mediocre special teams unit.

PP21 fell off last year in punt returns. I'd like to see him focus on playing cornerback and any wildcat packages and forget punt returns for now.

Apparently was on the same flight from Cleveland as Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot.

I'm thinking that Walken and Malkovich would make primo dysfunctional owner/partners.

I'm in for casting Steve Buschemi as the agent and Shane as Jerry Jones' secret illegitimate son.

Note - the Cleveland writer who says Cribbs will sign with us tomorrow is the same one who had him signed sealed & delivered for us nearly a week ago.

Update: Josh Cribbs close to Cards Contract

Josh Cribbs reportedly close to Cardinals contract

By Kevin Patra NFL.com

Free agent wide receiver Josh Cribbs is close to a move to the desert.

The former Cleveland Brown flew to Arizona to meet with the Cardinals Sunday night, take a physical and, if all goes well, sign with the team Monday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer.

Cribbs visiting Cardinals

Per Cabot, Cribbs flew to Arizona on Sunday night to visit with the Cardinals, take a physical, and possibly sign a new contract.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians knows Cribbs well from Arians’ time in Pittsburgh. And given the fact that Cribbs played quarterback at Kent State, he would automatically become the second-best passer on the roster.

Heck, maybe even the first.

Shane, damn it. I'm trying to provoke you into a flame war about this QB at #7 thing and you keep ignoring it!

I find it kind of funny that anyone has a strong opinion either way about signing Cribbs. He is a special teams player who can return kicks and be penciled in as a #4 or #5 WR. Even more, he shouldn't cost much money so he shouldn't affect our ability to pursue any other free agents. A "meh" signing if I have ever seen one.

I think BA feels he has more to offer than LSH.

In his eight seasons on the Browns, Cribbs never became dynamic as a receiver. His role was heavily reduced last season when he had only seven receptions. Still, he went to two Pro Bowls as a returner and can contribute as a Wildcat runner.

With Patrick Peterson already entrenched on punt returns, Cribbs' value is slightly diminished on the Cardinals. However, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians needs playmakers, and given the right situation, Cribbs still can make plays with the ball in his hands.

We need all the help we can get. Cribbs is a very good return man and a decent fourth WR. This signing makes alot of sense.

I'm sure Arians has thoughts on how to use him, but, I wonder about the #4 receiver slot.

What route trees can he actually run?

We may stll need a backup slot receiver.

Cribbs is going to sign a 1 or 3 year deal and at a price the Cardinals are dictating.

What is not to like ?

At best he & Roberts push M.Floyd for playtime.

Plus it solidifies our WR group.

Fitz
Floyd
Roberts
Cribbs
Byrd

So we trade Doucet for Cribbs. That is a win in my book
