Doesn't matter whether he signs or not. William Powell can return kicks. Does 3.5 yards per kick return really make that much difference?

Why is William Powell even making this team. Didn't run all to well, he caught the ball really well but BA doesn't throw to RB's, and he doesn't play coverage teams. Especially since I fully expect us to draft a guy.

Does .6 yards a carry per rushing attempt really make that much of a difference? 4 yards per carry or 4.6 yards per carry, which would you rather have? That's is 15% more output, which is equivalent to the kickoff average scenario. I would take 15% more production for any statistical category.

Does a field goal kicker care about 3.5 yards?

Forget the stats. When he received just a little bit of blocking, Powell could move the ball.

Is this a THESMEL post? What in the world are you talking about? .6 yards per carry? If a back had 250 carries in a season that would equate to 9.5 yards per game. A HUGE deal. 9.5 yards per game. Dang that is the difference between 11-5 and 5-11. 3.5 yards for a FG kicker? Maybe the difference from the 60. This is just ridiculous. Especially since all I was commenting on was William Powells' ability as a kick returner not as a RB or FG kicker.

It's 9:10 pm EDT. Nothing new on Cribbs since Cabot reported seeing him on the jet-liner.

10 daylight hours is a long time for the medics to get a dude to cough.

I wonder if this is just Act 2 in a scenario concocted by Cribbs and/or his agent (or whether he'll surprise us all and sign the freakin' contract).

PS - The draft order with the supplemental picks hasn't been released either.

Slo day in the desert.

They might just be working out the deal at this point, but it is hard to say. The cards don't have a ton of cap space remaining so maybe the 2 sides are just a little too far apart at the moment?

With the offense we're about to field, 3.5 yards might as well be a country mile.

Powell is here because he sings the cardinals bird song- Cheap Cheap Cheap - Now duck Meister poking me with sticks while I was playing nice-
We are years away from having a QB that can execute without a balanced run game-

Hoyers our best bet- Cause BA has no intentions of being a top 20 run team. Fitz has been healthy and has not carried this team- and if he can't carry a team as a WR - just who in the hell will!

The patriots aint won a SB since Corey Dillon at RB and The Cards would have never made it to the SB with the EDGE! I hope Mendenhalls the answer - but I think we have an above average blocker in the backfield- We'll see how his knee holds up to a very young oline.

I have hope- but it is a fools hope- JUST WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR Jake Duck!

Nonsense. The problem with the offense the last 3 years was horrendous offensive line coaching. Now we have real offensive line coaches. We have two first round Wide Receivers and a first round RB. All that has to happen is for Stanton to step up and 3.5 yards will be what we need for a first down on second down.

The more I think about it, the more I suspect that Cribbs was aboard that flight in order to be in AZ to lobby for himself at the League meeting and that the report that he was here for a physical was more speculation by Cabot than it was factual.

ESPN reporting Josh Cribbs is deciding between signing with AZ, NYG or SF. If he wants a ring we will be hard pressed to get him. However the Cardinals easily offer him the most playing time as a KR/PR/ST Gunner/WR & Pistol QB.

Neither SF or NYG will use him in a wildcat formation and both teams have proven kickoff return guys. And both teams have a very solid WR corps so he would be buried on the depth chart for sure.

This would be a very solid free agent addition for the Cardinals and I hope if it gets done its a 2 year deal.

Go Cardinals!

Rickert expects the Cardinals to give Cribbs another physical in a few weeks. If all is well then, he expects a signing with the team.

Josh Cribbs Agent JR Rickert "expects the Cardinals to give Cribbs another physical in a few weeks and if all is well then, Cribbs expects signing with the Cardinals.

My translation to to all of this is we will end up getting Josh Cribbs NFL Draft weekend. Stay tuned!

Go Cardinals!

Although Cribbs is one of the best special teams players in NFL history, the severity of the meniscus damage will go a long way toward determining his effectiveness in Arizona. Wide receivers Torry Holt and Antonio Bryant never recaptured pre-injury form after bone-on-bone conditions related to meniscus surgeries.

What's wrong with William Powell as our Kick Returner? Highest average and longest kick return last season. Also had the highest yards per carry of any of our RBs. Seems like a good and inexpensive solution to me.

Dang, did Ryan Williams really average 2.8 yards per carry? Second round Running Backs. :bang:
