What's wrong with William Powell as our Kick Returner? Highest average and longest kick return last season. Also had the highest yards per carry of any of our RBs. Seems like a good and inexpensive solution to me.

Dang, did Ryan Williams really average 2.8 yards per carry? Second round Running Backs. :bang:

It's not all on him, imo. Losing Levi really hurt production last yr. He'll break some when we get decent line play.

Powell would be fine as a KR.

I thought it was 2.8 carries between injuries. ;)

I don't think Powell has the same skill set that a healthy Cribbs does (Cribbs is more shake & bake. Powell is more north south - although I do recall him hurdling at least one dude)).

Regarding the 2.8 ypc average for Williams - it might not be so much a dark cloud over him as it should be a mark of shame for our offensive line (I'm not sure Barry Sanders could gain positive yardage behind those bozos).

If your looking for AVERAGE, sure there is nothing wrong with Powell as you kick return man. Ranked 15th in the NFL. Having the highest average and longest kick return on a team where only two guys did it, isn't really saying much.

That is like giving kudos to the fastest guy without legs. Not exactly the group of running backs to be giving anyone kudos to for being the best.

Another good and inexpensive solution, anyone drafted outside of the first 3 rounds. Of which I have no doubt we will be drafting one. Powell is a goner(injuries not withstanding).

It is when the other guy was being paid like LSH was. Poor group of RBs? A former first round pick who had rushed for over 1000 yards and 10 TDs only a season before and a 2nd round pick? And those two couldn't even get 3 yards per carry behind that oline.

In Williams' defense our run blocking was beyond horrible at the start of last year when he was healthy. They improved a little as the season went on. Powell was also a very good returner in college and I think he is a sleeper at the running back position.

Well obviously he is more north and south than Cribbs considering he is a RB and Cribbs is a WR, but Powell is much more about lateral quickness and shiftiness than being a north and south player.
