The Hit King doesn't care about your shade
The Hit King can care whatever he wants. He not only showed disrespect for the League by using
insider information as a Manager to bet on games . . .

He tried to make a mockery of being reprimanded when he filmed that stupid TV commercial in the
hallway saying, "I'm not allowed in the Hall."

It would be irrational to respect his 'disrespect'. Which is why he didn't continue being a Manager,
prolific singles hitter or not.

This is the 100th anniversary of Shoeless Joe Jackson throwing the World Series. Great hitter or
not, he disrespected baseball and was severely punished.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Josh Jackson should be held accountable for what
ever he did while resisting arrest, if that is what he was trying to do. Time will tell.

What was he being arrested for? You say he should be held accountable for resisting arrest but there is no arrestable offense to resist.

You say that but it’s been stated that he tried repeatedly to get into a restricted area for which he had not apparently paid. If you do not respect the rules of a place and refuse to abide by them you might be arrested for attempted trespass. Seems pretty obvious that’s what was occurring.

Seems obvious to you

But he was there with several other Suns and only he got arrested? Sounds to me like they were all in and somehow Jackson ended up separate and was not able to get back in.

Anyway I still say it is a no-story.

Josh had a chance to make it a non-story.

If he runaway from a law enforcement with handcuffs on he put the officer into a difficult situation.

What is the officer going to do, casually say I lost a suspect and I want a new pair of handcuffs.

"run away"

Josh Jackson doesn't come across that stupid in interviews, on the contrary. I just think it is a completely overblown description of what really happened.

I imagine a frustrated Jackson being in a heated argument with the typical american police officer who escalates the situation instead of deescalating looking for ways to screw you over. Like if someone bumped into Jackson who in turns bumps into the officer would put him down for assault too.

As if the guy runs away with handcuffs. Do you think he thought he would get someone to saw them off? I doubt police handcuffs can be lock picked easily.

And you've met every police officer and know what "typical" is? Or are you going by the social media reports that still are just talking about a distinct minority of the law enforcement community? There are bad people out there, some of them are cops but your implied meaning of typical doesn't work for that group or people in general IMO.

We agree, I hope the situation is overblown.

When I talk to a police officer I go out of my way to avoid any provocation. Things can escalate quickly.

Jackson has a history of making bad decisions so this is not the first.

Well I recently watched a documentation of American police officers from Texas visiting German police officers in Hamburg and vice versa.

It is a completely different approach to how they conduct themselves. The amount of bad cop examples in the US is insane. Almost every week there is a story of something you could never ever imagine over here.

Being typical does not have to mean they are the majority. They fit the stereotype that exists for real reasons.

It usually does mean majority or at least representative. There's close to a million law enforcement officers in the US, a story a week of atypical behavior is a drop in the ocean. I'm quite sure there are far more incidents than are actually reported but nowhere near enough to warrant the "typical" label IMO.

Was it actually even a police officer that handcuffed him, or was it event security? I just want to hear the rest of this story.

We don't know much that's for sure. I wonder if it was actually handcuffs or if it was something like a zip tie?

Germany has a third of the population and you basically never have those stories.

And the stories we hear in the news are usually cops killing people. The number of unnecessary escalations is probably a lot higher a lot more than a dime in the ocean I guess. I think it is totally plausible that a cop would escalate a situation dealing with a drunken young 6‘7 black guy who was in a bad mood and annoying af.

The whole mindset of being a police officer is different starting with being equipped with tazers and deadly weapons. Police behavior that is considered normal in the US is not even allowed. Maybe I can find the documentation on youtube. It seems to me that in the US it is not considered unusual if police officers are confrontational.

Not that I would have run handcuffed, but turn it around, why handcuff a guy who is basically trying to crash the gate at an event that is obviously not a terrorist? I would be alarmed if I was a black man and was being handcuffed for such a trivial offense. Nor saying what JJ did was right. I am just saying I can see where he would be alarmed.

It was a police officer. There's no such charge as escaping from a security guard. The police report said escaping and resisting an officer's arrest without violence.

Josh was was reportedly told multiple times he couldn't enter the area without the proper pass.

At some point in time a line has to be drawn. Why have the police if they don't enforce the law.

This is not his only incident with law enforcement.

Oh I know. He's a knucklehead. There are two type of problem athletes. Those like Draymond Green that do stupid things in games. Then the other camp is like JJ, who you hold your breath every off season. Left to their own devices, these athletes decision making is not good. IF we keep JJ, then this will be the first test of Monty Williams, if he can get JJ to mature.

I don't think it's the typical reaction but this part I agree with, the rest I'll leave alone as we've strayed off topic here. I'll wait till all the information comes in to decide what I think about this incident.

Overall its disappointing this even had to happen. More disappointing that the other Suns players were there too and they all did show and use better judgement. I'm all for having fun, JJ should hold himself accountable, but at the same the other guys need to watch out for each other. Their profile is of a higher stature than the average joe at those events.

Probably alcohol was involved too, so that always impaired your judgement.

I think we're trying to trade Jackson but if he sticks around, Monty Williams might be the best thing that ever happens to him.

Yeah I think we decided to trade Josh quite awhile ago and I agree, Monty might be the right guy for him if he stays.

Then why not charge him? It seems off. People usually get hit with a lot of charges right off the bat so the prosecuting body has more to work with when negotiating later. It may not stick but it allows them to take it off the table instead of something else.

Of course if events played out similar to how JC suggested earlier that would explain why trespassing wouldn't be one of the charges. We don't know but the lack of an arrestable offense says a lot, IMO.

I think we should see what Monty can do with him first. Jackson's value cannot possibly get lower than it is right now. Why trade him for pennies on the dollar when Monty could perhaps get through to him and turn him into another Scottie Pippen?
