JJ played Westbrook great in the first half. I would like to see JJ, Ayton and Bender on the floor. I think maybe our three best defenders.
Sounds good. Someone needs to come in for Anderson

"Jackson said his confidence is still intact. He just needs to let the game come to him more without forcing it.
"Sometimes I find myself just going a little too fast out there and I get excited," Jackson said. "I try to make a play that's not always there. So just try to make the simple plays and just slowing down a bit. I think I move a little too fast sometimes."
From Bright side:
It’s nice to see he’s pretty self aware. From Bright side:
JJ still not shooting well
the bright side:
he can significantly improve his shooting percentage by simply not hoisting up 3's
his comments show he gets what his problems are
that brutal O'connor article emphasizes he was better at everything in college only 1.5 years ago
O'connor says "Jackson has lost his discipline" since Kansas
hmmm, i wonder why?
JJ did not have discipline in college, he just did not have the same competition. JJ is doing better as of now. I believe JJ just tries to hard to begin with. He must have also been reading boards that talked about JJ as a pg and believed he could do it. He started forcing passes. Add to that an unfamiliar offense for everyone involved and he ends up getting a lot of turnovers. JJ has improved in the last few weeks, and I think he will continue to do so as the season progresses.
Again. The thing that I think he needs to focus on is being a lock down defender. He can do that. The needs to be the bread and butter of his game.
The thing that bothers me the most is although he tries hard on the floor, i dont think he puts in any work on his craft.
His shooting percentages are the same or worse than last year. How else is that possible with such a glaring weakness and a whole long offseason?
He also must never watch tape because if he did, he would see how bad of shots he takes.
He may be one of those guys that is out of the league in 3 years, and then maybe works his way back in the league realizing he has to work hard and find a role as a defender and open court player first...
Just throwing this out there, there have been guys without outside shots that played long careers in the NBA. Rebounding, defense, and hustle will get you on a lot of teams. Almost every night we play against at least one guy on every team that we like, who don't shoot from the outside. Montrezl Harrell comes to mind immediately.
This is not necessarily true. There have been a lot of wings who were Jackson's size or smaller who were defensive specialists and made great careers. What they did was play within themselves and not try to be "the guy" on offense.Yes, but the guys who make careers out of that are bigger and stronger than Jackson. Wispy wings who have no skills but "play hard" are a dime a dozen.

All I can think of is Roberson from the Thunder in todays game who plays D and not much else. Too bad he's been injured. People are shooting themselves out of the league by not be able to shoot 3's.
