I beleive this Josh is a bettter choice at QB than DA. Loved the Viking game with his pass to Poole to knock them out of the playoffs.
I'm sure Rats and Cheesey believe him!
Rats and Cheesey could have played better than Todd Collins. DeWreck Anderson could have played better than Todd Collins.

He would have got in the game and and done just as poorly as Collins...or worse.
He should count his lucky stars or thank whatever god he was praying to when the Bears called that he spared himself the embarrassment he would have brought upon himself had he chosen to join their roster.

Don't be ridiculous. We're talking about Todd Collins not Kerry Collins. Todd Collins, you know the guy with the 5.9 QB rating during the regular season, no TDs and 5 Interceptions. TCollins is so old its a wonder he could even walk onto the field without Tennis balls stuck on his cleats.
I actually don't think it's THAT far fetched. He likely would have been the #2 in Chicago going into that game, so Collins never would have seen the field and I don't doubt that he could have made a play or two more than Hanie did, and that's really all it might have taken.
I hate McCown as an NFL starter, but I'm a little perplexed as to why he;s not a backup on someone's roster.

huh? Hanie made a lot of plays in that game, leading them to 14 fourth quarter points. McCown couldn't make a play if he drew it in the sand. Why you think he could have made plays against one of the best defenses in the league is a head scratcher to me.
I agree. And since he was dumb enough to stay in the UFL to work with Chris Palmer instead of playing in Martz' system again, he is probably too thick to do much against the Packers. And the next time McCown succeeds in the clutch will be the first time. At least Collins had done it at one point.
Hanie played great...for a guy who's never sen the NFL field. But he also made some really bad plays, and a couple of the plays he "made" were based almost entirely on blown coverages by GB. Let's not play revisonist history with Hanie's performance. He threw two picks in a single quarter.
Look, I really like the Bears (and Hanie--he's a CSU kid), but McCown could have played just as well...and I think a little better. I'm not saying McCown is a world-beater, just that he would have been a better in-game option in that situation.

You are right about that IMO but he did succeed in the clutch at least once. In the NFL.

You guys aren't giving Josh enough credit. He was part of the number one ranked passing offense in the entire NFL in 2005.

that couldn't score a TD to save it's life. easy to rack up yards when you're constantly behind, having to throw and leading your team to FGs.
Don't be dissin' Kurt Warner like that. He WAS the other half of that QB tandem in 2005. We are talking about the Cardinals. Nothing they do is normal.

Yep, and Leinart would have been a better option also. JM put Td's on the board in several games in 05. Had he not been Jocked around by DG, after we got Kurt, he would have made a nice backup in the last few seasons and we would have taken Nagata rather than Leinart like I wanted and we probably win a Super Bowl rather than having Kurt just take us there. I believe a huge run stuffer would have made a difference on those teams. Dan Williams could be that guy now. Of course we are still looking for that Qb.
