I just watched the first half of the Falcons game from back in September. Although there were mistakes, Josh looked really good in that game. That was the game where he completed something like 14 passes in a row. The offense moved the ball and receivers were open.

Don't watch the second half and you can keep your rosy outlook.

IMO, that's the game where Josh's fate was decided...

Against the Falcons, the Cardinals actually outgained them in the air, 179 to 89 passing yards, with a 78% completion rate. The 4 fumbles lost really hurt.

Decided on fumbles, not lack of passing. That IS the game where things turned around and Josh was instructed to be "ball protector" and ever since then, he never looked loose and never aired it out again. 78% passing completion percentage.

... and a 97.9 QB rating. Sometimes you guys have to actually think about the games and look objectively at the performances. Instead of the "well, I just hate Josh McCown". I don't know if he's the answer, but he has had some games that would prove he could be the answer, then some where he isn't.

It was the red zone that really did it...that is the worst place to lose turnovers.

I didn't give up on Josh completely then though. I waited until Miami. I gave him the bennie of the doubt in Buffalo because of the winds, but even with boldin back he looked bad then. Then in Miami, he looked very bad. He was saved by some poor officiating at the end, and gutted out a win. However, we should have lost that game without the refs' help (we deserved the help, don't get me wrong, for as often as we get screwed, but we got help nonetheless).

Atlanta is a paper tiger, anyway. I was really hoping we'd beat them...we really should have. Tampa took it to them, hard. I wish we'd have blown them out as well...might have been our best defensive effort, that game.

my God man - the guy didn't even put up 200 yards or even a SINGLE TD in the Atlanta game and that is one of the games where he proved he MIGHT BE THE ANSWER? Are you serious?

He played well in one game this season - against the Niners - who are the worst team in professional football. And he one good drive against the Dolphins (shockingly enough - the SECOND WORST TEAM IN FOOTBALL) And in Josh's last three games starting (when he still had a healthy Emmitt Smith and Troy Hambrick) the offense put up 14, 17 and 14 points - period - that sucks and we would probably continued to have done so if Emmitt hadn't gotten hurt in the first series two weeks ago.

And if you really want to look at numbers - such as the 28 and 34 you mention - why not actually take alook at WHO those numbers were put up against - 34 - the Saints on a day where both Emmitt and Hambircks rushed for a combined 200 yards and the 28 against the Niners.

Why don't you tell us your option so when it flames out we can climb on you like a monkey with rectal itch.

Next year's starting QB will be Josh McCown. That's my opinion.

if this is the case and he continues to play as he did before he was benched than I will realy start to considerably doubt Dennis Green's sanity.

Mine's really off the wall. Bring in a Free Agent QB.

WOAH!! I know that's out there...but I really think its just so crazy it might work!

oh I dont know maybe cause Josh started for the first loss? Navarre and King have yet to lose the 9ers

Our defense also gave up 41 points that game. What a shock, when its anybody else other than Josh starting its the defense's fault but when Josh is starting its his fault.

Whatever

God. No. Oh please. Oh please God no.

WHY, at this point, should you think this to be so? What's he done to earn it? What's he even done to earn a second chance (other than not be injured and to suck less than King)?

Well that will just depend on who is available. But I'd prefer Brees. I wouldn't be terribly angry with Bledsoe, but not happy. I don't like Brooks, he's an underachiever. I wouldn't mind Mike McMahon.

But I want to see a FA QB come in, and maybe a draft pick. Then Navarre as the backup/third guy.

We can't go on with inexperience at the QB spot and expect to win games.

I actually agree with your choices.

I want one solid experienced QB on the roster it's foolish not to have one.

I think Green thought that was King and I think he was wrong but I am sure he feels that way too now so it will get better.

We know he's not the answer. But he's the only real alternative this year.

Green made sure of that.

At this point knowing McCown's not the answer (although he's stated he still thinks he can be good), I think that he really didn't want to continue to help develop the guy for someone else maybe after he leaves and then him proove Green wrong - that he is a starter in this league. Just not with the supporting caste he had here.

McCown didn't impress for sure - but he's by far the best we have, this year.

Whatever hot air Green is spewwing , Navarre's not ready. He's not even a proven back-up yet. Starter - please.
